As an Asian who loves milk tea, sometimes it’s hard to find something that is compatible with lactose intolerance luckily our friends recommend us this chain of ‘NUTTEA’ and we fell in love with it!! All their fruit teas are made freshly squeezed ingredients, and all the nut tea cream based drinks had such a strong almond/cashew milk flavour that we were blown away by the quality! 1. Earl Grey Tea w/ Chocolate Nut Cream
When we saw that this was their best seller and only 100 cups are made per day, we knew we had to try it! We added some chewy bits 寒冬 which is a healthier alternative to typical tapioca boba balls (+$4). The cream layer was so decadent and rich - there was a good balance of foam and cocoa flavour and a tinge if saltiness to counterbalance the sweetness of the chocolate. The earl grey tea base itself was rich and not overly sweet (we ordered 30% sugar), and when paired with the cream foam layer, it was such an indulgence! 10/10 would recommend!
2. Taro Nut Mylk
The second cup we got was also such a show stopper! This didn’t have a tea base but the taro was blended with the nut milk to create a lovely flavour profile that was rich but not too sweet. It reminded us a lot like Chinese desserts, but less sweet, so if you like traditional Chinese sweets this may be for you! Since we ordered it in hot, we were told it would be more viscous than a cold one. In fact, this was so viscous that it felt like a full meal! If you normally don’t eat too much but want something healthy and filling to substitute for a meal - this is for you!!
Overall, 10/10 would come back again. The staff were very friendly and the uniqueness of the nut based tea makes this company a sure winner!
