Searched this place after seeing some ad bout it on tv and decided to give it a try. Was kinda excited after looking at the facebook pics of all the cute maids. Particularly looked forward to the egg omelette rice. My friend n i decided to go after a very long day at work. I have been to a french maid cafe in tokyo so was definitely up for some service by cute maid on a monday night.When we got there the place was super crowded!!! Like a refugee camp!!! When we got there the place was super crowded!!! Like a refugee camp!!! Smelt really oily too. The maid greeted us n called us master. We were seated next to the wall........very cramped seating. We were also sitting next to some kid who was one of the maids sisters.......who kept screaming in my ear all night. It was also really hot but they said they can't turn up the air con.........
There were only 3 maids present. All were dressed in maid costume but all spoke in local loud manners like a typical mk girl....fair enough we were in mk.....but the idea of maid cafe completely failed.....i didn't feel served on like i did in japan. It was like having dinner in a really cramped and noisy local diner with young girls dressed in maid costumes. There was no magic to it.....failed completely in trying to be a maid cafe.....not kawaii at all!!!!!! and expensive!!!!!
To be honest we never placed too much expectation on the food. Still they managed to surprise us. When working on the pork chop cutlet instead of feeling like the master I felt like a doggie tearing his snack jerky apart (with great effort that is). Chicken was ok, but don't expect magic it's the usual thing from the breakfast set in fast food stalls.
A good coffee can always save the day. A bad one can wreck it as well. And a TERRIBLE one like the rose latte i had will certainly haunt me for some time. Ok we knew in advance they make coffee using instant powder. That we can't really complain. But to make a cup that's 2 teaspoon short of powder and twice too much rose syrup is SICK. In terms of coffee....it was weaker than ghost p*ss .....as for taste.....it was way too new for my tastebuds......
Overall disappointing experience. Sad ending to a sad day.
