It was a Thursday night around 19:30, I was able to be seated immediately.The service was very friendly and recommended the Japanese rice cakes with cheese. My rice cakes arrived about 5 minutes later and my ramen took about 8 minutes.
Japanese rice cakes with cheese: The rice cake was nice and chewy, the cheese inside was much like a mozzarella, the nori on top added a nice saltiness, and the sauce was slightly sweet. Even though the rice cake was slightly undercooked, I found my mouth becoming very dry while eating this. I also felt like there wasn’t much cheese in the actual rice cake.
Tsuke-men ramen with prawn and scallops: The broth is very thick and creamy, reminding me more of a gravy than a broth. The flavor has faint notes of fish and curry but the predominant notes are roast pork and bacon! I thought the broth was wonderful. The noodles were cooked just right to a medium consistency. The chashu was lean yet had the right amount of fat and sliced very thin. The egg was just slightly overdone, yet it was a little runny and had only set just a little bit. The prawn was greatly over cooked. The scallops were tender, seasoned perfectly, and had a nice sear on them.
The service was very friendly and spoke English very well. They even heated my broth up as they noticed it was getting cold. They are very attentive to the customer. They have an English menu with pictures.
Overall: 9.1/10
