Our party of 11 spent $22k on dinner. We ordered 5 sets for 2 and 1 person ordered alacarte. We only ordered a few beers, no sake or wine. The venue is decent with great harbour views but that’s really where the good points end. Service was average at best and our server managed to get our order wrong. Service was average at best and our server managed to get our order wrong. Our set was entitled to a choice of lobster or abalone and we requested for 4 sets with lobster and 1 with abalone. They ended up serving 3 sets with lobster and 2 with abalone, but instead of admitting their mistake, they insist that this is the perfect arrangement so we can ‘try both’. The server just shoved the abalone in front of us and left. I would not have mind if they admitted the mistake and apologized, but at this price point, such service level is unacceptable.
The set also came with sashimi and I can say quality is not any much better than genki and definitely worst than senryo. Again, we are taking about $2k per person. The quality of the A4 wagyu beef was also extremely questionable. We can perhaps accept a miscue by the chef but to start off with cheap ingredients is unacceptable at this price point.
The night ended with desert which was a slice of very average cheesecake. As mentioned above, we ordered 5 sets and 1 person went alacarte, the manager managed to get the order spot on this time and made it a point to not include the cheese cake for that last person. We really didn’t care for the cheesecake but it just looks bad on them, after all we did have a total bill of 22k and an extra slice of average cheesecake would have been a nice gesture.
Anyway I do not recommend going unless you desperately want a harbour view, which could be easily sought anywhere else anyway.
