Wanted a light and budget dinner so went with my gal for my first time as it's been highly recommended by her.Got there at around 2045 and still had to wait for 30 mins even it's a Thursday. Didn't mind to share a big table with another party so just got another end of the table.Food ordered:1. Tea smoked eggs x 2Combo of tea leave not bad, eggs were cooked just right, but then not smoked enough, sure can be easily improved.2. Combo of tea leave not bad, eggs were cooked just right, but then not smoked enough, sure can be easily improved.
2. Xiao Long Bao x 1
Considered to be one of the best-made xiao long bao I've had in HK. It's been skillfully wrapped without fracture and the skin was thin enough, also amount of filling soup was just right; however, the pork wasn't tasty enough - it's understandable that we dont' have pork that's as good as those in China but I guess the chef can do some magic to the taste.
3. Sour and spicy soup x 1pr
The above-average soup made. Nothing special besides they put some sea cucumber in it.
4. "Daam-daam" noodle x 1
The best dish of the night. Size is generous and noodle got the perfect texture, whilst soup was nicely done too (full of sasame-sauce taste and spiciness was sufficient). Great value for the money.
We ordered bi-luo-chun as tea ($9/head) and it came with an appetizer (deep fried fish and peanets, $12/plate), both are just "hong-for".
Oh, I'd say the amount of service is sufficient as the dishes were served quite quickly and I'm knowledgeable enough to order what I want so not much assistance was required.
We are happy with the overall quality and I am not attracted by their mains at all. Will definitely go there again but only for this kind of quick meal.
