Went for a late 'dinner' here. The place was packed (as usual). The thai purple sticky rice gell was smooth and creamy, with a nice accent on the flavour due to the impregnation of glutenous rice into it. Still, not that keen on cold desserts, though. The thai purple sticky rice gell was smooth and creamy, with a nice accent on the flavour due to the impregnation of glutenous rice into it. Still, not that keen on cold desserts, though. But this was surprisingly refreshing as one.
The durian puffs were very nice also. Exquisitely creamy with the whipped cream perfectly complimenting the durian. The durian fragrance was not particularly strong either - so it is possible that the taste might be improved had stronger durian be used. However, such ingredients might be upsetting to other patrons; likely why the fragrance (and taste) were toned down. This is apparently the signature dish of the chain.
The walnut soup was rich and fairly creamy. I thought it could have been a tad more thick, though. In this respect it was average.
The walnut and almond soup was disappointing in terms of presentation. And this matters when your dish is presented as a 'bowl of vomit'. This picture says it all: utterly revolting presentation. Being less than acceptable, the waiter was hailed. The response was similarly disappointing: They parroted the fine-print on the menu that 'the images shown in the menu are for reference only'. At least they offered to take it back; but they would not replace it with something less 'visually disturbing'. In defense of the dish, the taste was acceptable. But the culinary experience fell far short of the minimal expectations for a Hong Kong establishment (where presentation is just as critical as taste).

This place is very busy at night. The busiest place on that level, generally speaking.
Not enough for a 'cry'; but will certainly prefer other options in future.
