Alvy’s is located a short walk away from Kennedy Town MTR station. The pizza joint, with its low hanging orange lights and red rustic “brick walls” exuded a very midwest sports bar vibes.
We opted for the set menu; which included 1 starter, 1 wings, 2 drinks, and 1 main dish for HKD 238 per pax. Great deal for the portion if you ask me!
STARTER: MEATBALLS
Meatballs were well made with a good ratio of fat to meat, which resulted in meatballs that were neither dense, nor dry. The meatball were accompanied by a nice “Sunday sauce” and grated parmesan.
WINGS: BOURBON BARBECUE WINGS
You get to choose from the spicy wings and the barbecue wings, and we opted for the latter. The chicken wings were well marinated, tender and coated with a nostalgic BBQ sauce. For those who want an added flavour, they provided a light sour cream sauce too!
MAIN: THE CHEESEBURGER PIZZA
Here, you get to pick either a pasta or pizza. The menu is filled with very interesting choices, and we definitely had a hard time here. We struggled between the “BAK GWEI (Char Siew)”, the “MALA salami”, “BOURBEN PIE” before opting for the “CHEESEBURGER” to complete the “Bourbon Bar” vibes! The cheeseburger pizza indeed didn’t disappear. There was a rich tomato paste and a very generous portion of beef bites and bacon toppings. A very gratifying way to end our meal!
