Ordinary Burger with Hugh Price Tag

I rarely write a comment on a food column but this one, I really have to break my silence. So here is the story. Me and my girlfriends were out drinking on a Friday night. I rarely write a comment on a food column but this one, I really have to break my silence. So here is the story. Me and my girlfriends were out drinking on a Friday night. We didn’t eat much at dinner so we all got super hungry, so we decided to visit the 24/7 Kebab shop before going back home, that’s our routine. However, when we got there, we found that there is a burger shop on the other side, it’s a new shop, haven’t seen it before, what is interesting about this shop is that you can literally see through the kitchen through the glasses, so you know how your burger is cooked, cool! I think that’s the reason that stops me there. So I check out the menu, it’s an ordinary burger menu, nothing too special, and then I check the price, HKD 98 for a classic!! I was like, WTH? There are many burger shops in Hong Kong but I have never seen a classic version burger costs 98 HK dollars! Honestly, I didn’t want to have a bite but then my girlfriends insisted to try, part of the reasons is because they are hungry and they are drunk and they like to try new things. What can I say? So I got them the classic. As they were preparing for my burgers, I was watching them through the glass window. Do you know what they did? They basically put two very thin beef petites in the bun along side with some basic veggies and a slice of cheese. That’s it! That’s what I got, with 98 dollars! So I had my first bite, it tastes absolutely ORDINARY, as I anticipated. I turned to my girls, I said, wow, this is the most expensive cheese burger I have ever had in my life!! To you, if you are reading my comments now, stay away from SMASH BOYS at all cost. Don’t waste your money. Spend it at a better place! This shop is up to no good. The reason why it is here is because they are targeting those drunken people who are stupid enough to bite. That’s the only reason they are there! Food for thought.
