New Years Eve and boyfriend's best friend and his wife wanted to meet up for dinner to ring in the new year. We decided to have hot pot at 牛大人 (English name: Master Beef) as we've been here a few times and they had never tried it. They have several locations but the Mong Kok branch seemed to be a location where it was most convenient for all of us to meet. As we knew this place was very popular, we made reservations so we didn't have to wait too long.The hot pot is 2 hours. The price is depends
The hot pot is 2 hours. The price is depends on the quality of the beef. We decided to go with $258 package which includes the M9 Australian Wagyu. Ordering the meat is done by scanning a QR code. This is in English and Chinese and quite easy to use.
The rest of the items are in a buffet format found at one of the restaurant. These are vegetables, noodles, tofu and all sorts of meat balls. Everything is placed in containers that have lids on them.
The drinks are all you can drink and located in fridges located at every corner so you don't have to walk far.
For the soup, we chose the Master Beef Roasted Bone Soup. It was very rich and savory with various Chinese herbs found in it along with big chunky bones.
The quality of the meat was very good. A strong beef flavor and still tender no matter how long we cooked it.
The vegetables we grabbed were fresh and there was a lots to choose from.
There were so many types of balls. We couldn't decided and tried as many as possible.
Near the end, we got to choose a dessert. You can choose either ice cream of Taiwanese ice jelly. The ice cream is Movenpick.
One of our favorite places for hot pot as it seems no matter the branch, it's always consistent. Quality of the food is good. The place is tidy and items at the buffet area are constantly checked on and refilled. All items we ordered arrived with no orders missed with not much a delay despite the huge number of people.
