I have to say that Dang Wen Li by Dominique Ansel might be one of my favourite bakeries for pastries and cakes, mainly because of how creative and cute they always look! — I was so impressed by how similar this looked compared to an actual burrata but was not expecting this to be so GOOD! As odd as this might sound in a cake, all the flavours just worked so well together to create a perfectly balanced cake that was so refreshing. It’s made of ladyfingers, strawberry compote and basil infused mascarpone cheese that is then shaped into a burrata. The strawberry compote was light and not overly sweet, whilst there were slight hints of basil that really brought all the flavours together. I also really enjoyed all the different textures this cake had to offer. I really recommend this for those who are looking for a unique tasting dessert.

— Another beautiful creation. The cake base, cremeux and mousse are all made of stout beer and chocolate, making the beer taste really prominent but not overpowering. The inside contains a crunchy chocolate wafer cookie to create a contrast of textures, whilst the brown sugar chantilly cream gave the cake a smooth texture. This is definitely a more decadent dessert and perfect for chocolate lovers as it’s really rich and creamy. It’s slightly on the sweeter end but the beer taste helps to cut through it quite a bit.

— Finally tried this out even though its been around for ages!! I thought this was so cool, it’s literally mango sticky rice in a cake. The base is made of a glutinous rice sponge cake with actual rice in it making it resemble the actual dessert. The coconut rice cream was so smooth and rich and perfect alongside all the other elements. The mango compote was refreshing as the acidity helped balance out the creaminess and sweetness of the cake.
