Now a days people are more health- conscious.Many of us try to go veggie occasionally.-(i.e.Green Monday) or even become a enthusiastic vegetarian or vegan.Even though my families and I are not buddists,we will occasionally go to vegetarian restaurants.Today we go to a vegetarian restaurant called"Veggie Family" (素食一家) located in Sai Yee street,Mong Kok( 旺角洗衣街).The restaurant divided into two areas which one is the old Chinese style while the other is the modern western cafe style.Unlike the tr

Unlike the traditional Chinese vegetarian restaurant, the cuisines here are more like east meets west,fusion style.

There are veggie pizzas,organic cola, veggie desserts without any dairy products(milk and egg free) ,black /white malt beverages,natural fruit vinegar drinks to the traditional Chinese stir fried noodle,fried rice,veggie Sichuan spicy cuisines,and some very special veggie cuisines
you can't find in other places.

We ordered the "Pine nuts black truffle sauce fried rice"(崧子黑松露炒飯)HKD$88.

There is a strong unique aromatic black truffle flavour.

The rice is al dente.Each grain nicely separated from each other.

The pine nuts add crunchiness to the rice.

I loveeee this fried rice only use small amount of oil to cook.

We also ordered the "stir-fried Hericium mushroom with lily and asparagus"(蘆筍苗百合炒猴頭菇)HKD$98.

The Hericium mushroom tastes llike meat as it marinated with spices.

The asparagus is extremely fresh,green and delicate as only the baby sprouts are selected.

This dish is very high vitamins and fiber contents which can detoxes your digestive system.

For the animal lovers and animal right activists who object eating shark fin soups,here is a healthier alternative !!!

There is vegetarian shark fin soup provided which replaces the shark fin with other veggie ingredients without sacrifices the tastes and textures.

"Braised bamboo fungus faux shark fin soup"(紅燒野生竹苼素翅)HKD$38

We also ordered three vegetarian desserts.

The first one is the "free milk & free egg ice cream in Hibuscus Goji flavour "(無奶無蛋洛神花味雪糕)HKD$38

This ice cream is very suitable for people who are allergic to dairy products and lactose.

Even though this ice cream doesn't contains any milk or egg,it is rich,creamy and silky smooth.

It is just like the ordinary ice cream as it used coconut cream and coconut oil to substitute the milk and egg.

The tofu cube is carved into chrysanthemum.Each "petal" sliced equally thin and same shape which demostrates chef’s finnesse of knife skills.

The final ones is the coffee marble cheese cake (contain milk & egg)(咖啡雲石芝士蛋糕)(含奶和蛋)$HKD22

The cake is rich,creamy,tasty but nothing special.

The staff here are very nice and helpful.

The tranquil and peaceful amosphere of the resturant makes you feel relax and calm.
