Godbro XO had a friend visiting from the US with her husband and toddler, so he wanted to treat his friends to a special treat in Hong Kong. Godbro XO had a friend visiting from the US with her husband and toddler, so he wanted to treat his friends to a special treat in Hong Kong. His friends had a pretty tight schedule, so they decided to meet up for afternoon tea last Sunday. XO remembered how special our afternoon tea was at DK Cuppa Tea during Chinese New Year, so he set the venue at the Central location of DK Cuppa Tea. He decided that the themed afternoon tea sets at DK Cuppa would be more unique since you can have the traditional English afternoon tea anywhere around the world!

When XO called to make the reservation, he was told that the Tiffany Blue tea set, A Day in the Frosty Garden, was still available, so he invited me to tag along so that the four adults could share 2 different tea sets instead of all 3 of them having the new cat-themed set.

The rain was pouring on and off all day last Sunday, and we were quite lucky that when we got to DK Cuppa Tea, the rain had stopped for just a moment! I quickly snapped a photo of the store front and stepped inside before the rain started again.

The concept behind DK Cuppa Tea is to introduce patrons to aromatherapy through the food, so the front of the store was devoted to selling aromatherapy products.

There is a capsule toy machine in the shop and if you follow the directions and post a photo on social media, you can get a capsule prize. What was my prize? Secret!

When we arrived at the tea room, the group before us were just finishing, and we waited a few minutes before our table was ready. After we were seated, the server explained the concept of the tea sets and started the interactive phase with the magic cards and wishing cards.

The magic card I got this time was the energy card. Have I been a bit sluggish lately? Maybe... It's Spring! I'm slowly waking up from the winter slump!

Next, we filled out our butterfly wishing cards and handed them to the server. There were a lot of wishing cards hanging on the walls around the tea room!

Our tea cups and flower-shaped paper plates were already on the table, and the server served our tea in a glass pot, so we could pour our own tea.

Along with the pot of tea came our blue cloud of cotton candy!

The tea came with a blue-colored milk, and the server explained that it's colored with butterfly pea flowers, so we didn't have to worry about artificial food coloring.

After we poured our tea into the cups, the steam from the tea made the cotton candy melt, and it rained sugar into our cups! At this time, it was raining inside the tea room and outside as well! (The pouring rain came back in no time!)

It seems like the shop has changed a few items in the tea set since it was first released in the Winter, so the new items would be more suited for the Spring. The tea in the original set was an earl grey tea. The tea we had seemed more floral and had a citrus note.

Next, our afternoon tea set was ready, and the server set the Tiffany blue tray on our table!

The most eye-catching item in the tray was the merry go round music box! The rest of items were also decorated with carousel horses and snow flakes!

The server told us that we should start with the panna cotta since it would melt at room temperature. The panna cotta replaced the cheesecake that was in the original set, and it's probably lighter than a cheesecake and would seem more appropriate for the Spring.

The blue jelly on top of the panna cotta was colored with butterfly pea flowers, and it was apple-flavored. The apple flavor in the jelly was very light, and the panna cotta itself was a little bland. I would have preferred it to be quite a bit sweeter!

After having the panna cotta, we decided to start with the savory items.

Liver Pate with Caviar on Water Cracker

The liver pate was very smooth and flavorful. The water cracker had a nice crunch factor and balanced out the heaviness from the pate.

The various tarts were served in rain drop shaped dishes that were put together to form a big circular snow flake.

Out of the tarts I had, the goose liver duck rillete tart was my favorite, and the tomato tart tasted just like a pizza!

The scones were served with clotted cream and rose petal jam. The scones had a nice buttery aroma, and the texture was crumbly but didn't completely fall apart when we sliced into them. The cream and jam paired delightfully with the scone, and it wasn't overly sweet.

The macaron was a bit too crunchy and airy and lacked the chewiness that macarons should have.

Earl Grey Cookies

The Earl Grey Cookies were shaped like carousel horses which made them very pretty. As soon as I bit into the cookie, my mouth and nose were filled with the aroma of the earl grey tea! The cookie itself was light and buttery, and the sweetness was just right.

I let XO's friend have the rice cereal treat, and I had the cupcake and yuzu chocolate.
Earl Grey Cupcake: The cupcake in XO's tea set was bit dry, but ours were not dry at all! The cupcake had a light earl grey fragrance, and the buttercream was silky smooth!
The yuzu chocolate was the same as the ones we had with the Spring Symphony tea set in Sheung Wan.

I had the profiterole that was filled with chantilly cream. We had this item last, so the profiterole had gotten a little soggy from sitting around. The chantilly cream was very smooth and had a strong vanilla flavor.

Thanks to XO's treat, I was finally able to try DK Cuppa Tea's A Day in the Frosty Garden afternoon tea set! It was another wonder experience that delighted the senses! The Tiffany Blue afternoon tea lifted our spirits on an otherwise miserable rainy day!

題外話/補充資料： While we were waiting for our table to be ready, the server was very nice and provided a chair for XO's friend who was holding her toddler.
