Met boyfriend for lunch in Tsim Sha Tsui as I wanted to see the Snoopy exhibition in the mall. He let me choose the lunch place and I wanted to go to aplace called Hand3ag as it served pretty teppanyaki style sandwiches.Located in K11, it's actually near a new exit to the MTR station. They had various salads on display. It's self service as you order and pay at the cashier. They will provide you with a pager that will ring for you to pick it up.
Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge.
They have combo sets that include a salad, fries or soup and a set drink with an option to upgrade to a smoothie for $10. As it's soft opening when we went, there was a discount on combo sets.
Boyfriend and I ordered two sandwich combo sets. The top was the Japanese style barbeque pork ramen sandwich ($75). The bottom was the slow cooked shredded beef short rib ($81). The combos are actually half a sandwich and already include a salad. So, if you choose the salad as your side, you'll just get more salad. Thus, our sides were triple cooke hand cut fries and Hoikkaido vegetables and pearl barley soup. We upgraded our drinks to smoothies as it was only $10. The red smoothie was strawberries, apple, sweet pepper and lemon. The orange smoothie was orange, apple, carrot. The upgrade to the smoothies was worth it as originally they cost $42. So, $10 is a deal! They were also the best item we had. The orange one was particularly good. Very thick and packed with flavor.
The rest were another matter. The sandwiches looked pretty. But wow ... lacked flavor. It seemed nothing was seasoned. The ramen was the worst as it was just dry flavorless noodles. Even the barbeque pork lacked flavor. The short beef rib didn't taste like beef but more like pork. It also didn't have much flavor. The fries were probably the worst fries I've ever had as they were dripping in oil. Was that what they meant by triple fry? To just keep it in oil, over and over again? The soup was fine though. Just a regular minestrone-like soup. The salad it came with was ok. Nothing really stood out. It was drizzled with a honey mustard dressing.
Portion size was enough for me but boyfriend still felt hungry. There will be a price hike later so that would mean it's definitely not value for money. I doubt I'd be back as the sandwiches didn't bring me back. I could be back for a smoothie?
