This is my first time to write a review because I feel I need to tell my terrible experience to everyone here. I had sandwiches here a year ago and also at their Sheung Wan store recently but after this, I will not come back. I was craving for poutine so I walked all the way here to have a snack. I asked the lady at the cashier if I can just order fries, she said yes. And then I said I want to add cheese. Fine, she said in an impatient voice. I didn't really pay attention to her attitude a
I was craving for poutine so I walked all the way here to have a snack. I asked the lady at the cashier if I can just order fries, she said yes. And then I said I want to add cheese. Fine, she said in an impatient voice. I didn't really pay attention to her attitude at first and just paid.
Then the fries came, and it looked like a big plate which is good. I went to get some ketchup and was looking for some pepper. I asked the same lady, who just turned out to be right beside me, if they have any black pepper. She said "no" and uttered in a small voice "we never have pepper" as if I'm asking a stupid question. That's fine, but I think even McD has that?
Anyway, the fries were just alright. Kind of too salty for me and the cheese was just not that much. The Heinz ketchup standed out the most.And then I heard the very same lady (who sounds like the manager) to ask one of the staff to clean the window, the window on my left when I was having my fries. She was using those spray and I could smell it from my seat. I had no choice but to change seats. Then the so called "manager" told the staff to stop cleaning the window and just clean the display window which is also right beside me (on my right this time). I could still smell it but well, what could I do? Though it was around 5ish and there were not much customers, I don't think spraying cleaner in front of a customer is such a good idea?
When I had almost finished the plate, with 1 or 2 fries left, a staff actually came by suddenly to take my plate. I said no, I'm not finished yet. The place is not full and they are trying to get me out of here? Could I not just sit here for awhile? I thought this only happens in 茶餐廳?
Last but not least, the very thing that really turns me off is this. A fly on my plate right after I finished. I saw it flying around for some time but I just never thought it was so "clever" to land right after I was done.Thanks for the worst experience in Hong Kong. Next time, I would rather pay to get some New York fries.
