I like to eat Hainan Chicken and have tried various places around HK island, but haven't found one that I would say it's the best in HK. Pass by this place several times in Wan Chai and saw a long line at the other location so decided to give this a try. Didn't have to wait at all at this Wan Chai location during lunch time. Ordered the Hainan Chicken lunch set for $44 (did the price go up again? saw older posts saying it was $42). It came with a drink or soup so I chose soup of the day, which was some chinese soup and not memorable at all. The chicken looked good and the portion was plentiful as you can see in the picture. I was excited until I took a bite out of the chicken and found it to be quite bland. It was smooth and tender as others have said but lacked the strong "chicken" taste I was accustomed to when eating Hainan Chicken. The redeeming factor here is the secret Thai sauce that came with the chicken. Basically I finished the rest of the meal smothering the chicken in that sauce, which was quite good. The rice was okay - a bit dry though. I give them a pass on the chicken so I shall continue my quest on looking for the best Hainan chicken in HK. 張貼
