Meeting up with a few friends we ended up in the relaxing surrounds of Caffe Habitu.It seems this place has been refurbished since my last visit, it decor is now wide and has more natural light overall a much more pleasant place to visit.To the food...Bangers and Mash: on the menu photo for this dish there is a red banner that reads upgraded which I'm guessing means an improved recipe.Presentation wise this dish looks OK, however the bangers were bland and lacked flavour. Bangers and Mash: on the menu photo for this dish there is a red banner that reads upgraded which I'm guessing means an improved recipe.
Presentation wise this dish looks OK, however the bangers were bland and lacked flavour. As for the mash it tasted like cement mix.
It was extremely dry, mash is suppose to be creamy, light and fluffy but this tasted like it was made from instant mash. If this is an improved upgraded version then I would not have liked to have tasted the previous version!
Fish & Chip: Presentation wise this looks good. The batter on the fish is nice and golden, I would have preferred real chips rather than fries but I guess its no most other restaurants. The batter flavoursome and crispy but fish was a little on the salty side. Overall I would order this again.
Original Coffee (Habiccino) - this was good, I could taste the coffee flavour and the ground up coffee beans gave this icy drink an extra dimension.
Cookies 'N Cream (Habiccino) - this wasn't good, as they say it doesn't taste like what it says on the label. A serious lack of Cookie 'N Cream flavour, which ended up icy flavourless icy drink. I don't know whether its a bad recipe or just made badly, we just accepted that it was bad and didn't ask for it to be remade.
Overall an average dining experience, the updated decor is nice bright and relaxing but the food/drink needs a bit of improvement.
