haven't had hotpot for a LONG time and decided to hotpot.pleasantly surprised by the relatively new-looking decor when i got inside. got seated on a booth, where the cooking range was an electric, glass ceramic plate. i guess that's good for safety. service is really good! staff is friendly and polite - didn't quite know the procedure of 'all-you-can-eat' hotpot places, and was explained well. the items on the all-you-can-order menu is not as extensive as i expected - something as basic as beef

the items on the all-you-can-order menu is not as extensive as i expected - something as basic as beef tendon, beef brisket and beef shin (shank) are not available. although ostrich meat, chicken testicles and razor clams are not on the menu as well i wasn't expecting too much.
garnishes were served to be used with soy sauce -chopped raw garlic, fried garlic, chopped chili peppers and chopped spring onions.
we ordered 3 times, but every time there were items missing. but then again for the price we paid, it is reasonable.
ordered the yin-yang pot (satay on one side, pork bone soup on the other). satay was rich and slightly oily; pork bone soup came with chinese celery and cut up corn cobs.
we were given a "complimentary" seafood platter as well (which seems to be a way for the restaurant to dump their old meats without it going to waste, getting extra points from the customer at the same time)- it had 2 oysters which were fatty looking, but the taste was AWFUL - sorry to say but it tasted very unfresh; fish (gau toh fish) , and 2 pieces small shrimp. it really should have gone straight down the trash.
best meat of the night was the lamb - very thinly sliced, tender, and the 'lamb' taste was not overwhelming, which for some people may not be desirable but for me is good enough.
octopus balls appear to be handmade, not ready made - not bad!
might be a while before i come back, good place if you like to eat 'basics' but if you are adventurous, go elsewhere for strange offal meats. good for the very cheap all-you-can-eat: it's $78 before service charge + other miscellaneous charges, the bill came to roughly $130 per person.
