I haven't been to H8 before. It's a building that full of restaurants. I am so out-dated. I thought it's a shopping mall. I bought this coupon at $95. +$25 service charge. When I bought the coupon, they claimed the original price to be $250. But as I saw the menu outside the restaurant, it's only $169 for a high tea set. The environment is neat and nice. Main colour is white. We were arranged to sit in sofa window seats, good! (Although not a really nice view) The high tea set consists of 4 drinks. And 12 pieces of salty food and desserts.
First thing I want to mention is: What they serve is a bit different from what they said in the coupon website (Please see my photo, I printed the menu out from the coupon website, so that, I know what I am eating!) They didn't inform me about that. Seems they are not respecting their customers. From previous comments, I can see that they are serving fine dining, and most people have positive comment about the restaurant. So, I think they just don't care about the 'coupon' customer. I feel quite disappointed about this. And this is the main reason that I will probably not come back this restaurant for dinner.
Orange / Apple juice:
To start with, we order orange and apple juice (included in the tea set). Nice and cold enough. A rather big cup of it.
<Bottom layer> 6 pieces of crispy bread with three different toppings: Salmon / Ham / Tuna (supposed to be Cheese with tomato)
Bread is crispy as toast. Nice. Fresh ingredients. One of the toppings is suppose to be cheese with tomato. But it turned out to be tuna with tomato. But it's delicious.
<Middle layer> Ice cream puff / brownie / creme brulee / milk pudding
According to the website, it is supposed to be cream puff / mango crepe / pancakes with fruits / chocolate mousse cake. So, where is the mango crepe? pancakes? & the chocolate mousse cake? They look really good in the website. And this is what they attracted me to buy this coupon. Luckily, the creme brulee & milk pudding is quite delicious. Ice cream puff is just okay. Brownie is a bit warm. Not bad, but not 'chocolate' enough and moist enough.
<Top layer> Lemon cheese cake / Strawberry yogurt cake?
According to the website, it is suppose to be marble cheese cake & creme brulee.
I always prefer those baked cheese cake. Personally, I really don't like those mousse-like cheese cake. And this lemon cheese cake is mousse-like. I would defintely like the marble cheese cake better. Therefore, I don't like it much. Quality is like those set dinner dessert. Strawberry yogurt cake, looks good. Taste okay. But definitely not delicious.
Set drinks: Hot Coffee/ Iced tea
Typical coffee taste. Not bad. The waitress asked you to order the set drinks while we are still in the half way of the tea set. And we still didn't finish our orange / apple juice.
Overall comment:
$124 is definitely a good deal with such high tea set. Provided that I know what exactly I am going to eat. (But not changed them without informing you) But I don't think it worth $250 at all. $150 - $168 is still acceptable provided that you can sit there comfortably and can spend the whole afternoon there chatting with friends.
