The only places my qwei po friends would go for Dim Sum are in the clubs- club dim sum? You tell that to any Hong Kong locals and they will laugh their heads off.I decided to show them where moms and the pops go for dim sum in CWB.The four of us sat down at Fung Shing Restaurant on Leighton Road. We ordered BBQ buns, steamed rice with pumpkin and ribs, rice roll with bbq pork, plain rice rolls with peanut sauce, Shrimp dumpling (Hargaw), Shrimp and pork dumplings( Siewmai) . , curry cuttle fish,
I decided to show them where moms and the pops go for dim sum in CWB.
The four of us sat down at Fung Shing Restaurant on Leighton Road. We ordered BBQ buns, steamed rice with pumpkin and ribs, rice roll with bbq pork, plain rice rolls with peanut sauce, Shrimp dumpling (Hargaw), Shrimp and pork dumplings( Siewmai) . , curry cuttle fish, veggie and shrimp dumpling, crispy fish cakes, stuffed bell pepper, friend bean curb sheet with fresh shrimp, steamed fresh veggie, spring roll ...yes they kept coming.
Everything was up to standard except for the bbq buns with dough too tough. Shrimp dumplings were gigantic with whole shrimp and skin was translucent and smooth. Fried spring rolls were crispy with taro and chopped pork filling. Stuffed bell pepper with fish paste was juicy and we needed knife and fork to cut as they were good portion. Steamed rice roll with bbq was stuffed with tasty bbq pork and it slide into your mouth with skin so smooth. Steamed veggie was $18 as it was part of the "leave before 11 am special".
Yes, I never liked any tea served in dim sum restaurant as they tend to give you bottom of the tea barrel. I brought my own oolong and the waitress was not offended and hot water was refilled many times.
The best part was the bill- all for $269. My qwei po friends' eyes almost popped when she saw it.
