It's been a while since we ate at Satay King so we came here for dinner. Mainly due to the fact that we were at Langham and looked up and saw the Satay King sign. Not knowing there was a location there, we grabbed a number and waited.When we entered, we had no idea why we had to wait for a table when there were plenty of empty tables available. That is when we realized, they didn't have enough staff working. We were seated and provided no water. We asked but they never got back to us.Not knowin

Not knowing what to order, we chose from the two people dinner set for $253. Menu is in English and Chinese. You get two soup or salad, two mains, one snack, two drinks and two desserts.
Boyfriend chose the fresh mango smoothie with coconut milk and sago (on the left) and I had the ice green apple tea (on the right). Let me just say ... only stick with the mango smoothie. The green apple tea was disgusting.
We chose soup and it was a cream of mushroom. It was ok. Nothing like canned soup to make my day. It was served in a tiny coffee cup.
I had the chicken leg with fries. One huge chicken leg was put in front of me. It was super juicy. The oil literally flew into the air when I sliced into it. The fries, on the other hand were limp. There was also some corn as well which I liked as it had no butter. Just baked. No seasoning. Fun stuff.
Boyfriend ordered the only thing he ever orders at Satay King. The lemongrass pork chop with rice in white curry. The pork chop was deep fried. Curry was fragrant. There was a big bowl of rice.
The snack we chose was garlic butter chicken wings. Does this place only deep fry everything? These were so fried, the coating crunched. The meat was still moist. There wasn't much taste of butter but there was a whole lot of garlic.
We ended with ice cream. I mean .. honestly, why choose the other dessert when Haagen Dazs is one of the choices?
Serviced seemed so rushed. Or at least the waitress that served us might have had a bad day. She was so grumpy. But I guess you don't expect much from Satay King. Just a bunch of fried items for fried fans. You even get discount coupons and a bottle of XO chili sauce on your way out.
