A little while ago, boyfriend and I came here as they had an opening promotion of one free take away brown sugar milk tea. We thought it was not too bad and were always curious ... would the food fare just as well?We decided to try it out and came during afternoon tea time. The afternoon sets include a drink with an optional upgrade to their bubble teas. We didn't feel like upgrading, so I chose a soymilk (on the left) and boyfriend had the daily fruit tea (on the right). The daily fruit tea was lychee and super sweet. The soymilk was pretty sweet as well. But size was quite big.
Zhong Xiao Beef Noodle ($65). These came with super thick noodles! They were flat and thick. Interesting but I think it was a bit thick. It started to feel doughy in texture. The beef shin was moist and tender. The soup was a strong but a bit laced with MSG.
Bittern Platter with Pearl Rice ($68). This included half an egg, beef tendon, beef shin and minced beef long with some preserved vegetables. Marinade wasn't salty but it had enough flavor from the marinade. Portion size was generous. There was a lot of rice provided. Loved the egg. The yolk was nice and runny and flavored well.
Food was decent enough. Portions were good. Prices reasonable. I'd be back.
