We booked a table for 3 at Beef and Liberty for 12.15. We ordered a bottle of wine and a bottle of sparkling water as soon as we sat down. We then ordered our food at about 12.30 - two orders of corn cobbler and 3 burgers, the restaurant was not busy at this time. We waited a long time for the water and wine. We booked a table for 3 at Beef and Liberty for 12.15. We ordered a bottle of wine and a bottle of sparkling water as soon as we sat down. We then ordered our food at about 12.30 - two orders of corn cobbler and 3 burgers, the restaurant was not busy at this time. We waited a long time for the water and wine. We had to chase the waiter three times. Even then he eventually only brought the water and we still had to wait another 10 minutes for the bottle of wine. The corn cobbler arrived quite quickly. It was basically sweetcorn in a bowl. We then waited and waited and waited for the burgers to arrive. We chased the waiter and were told that our order was coming. When it got to 1.30pm and still the food had not arrived - about an hour after being ordered, we asked for the bill. This was given to us. A waitress then told us that we would still need to pay for the burgers. The burgers then appeared and were then put on the table. We complained to the waitress that the we had been waiting for a long time for our food. She responded by offering two excuses. First, we had ordered starters and secondly, the restaurant was busy. We responded that the corn cobbler would have needed minimal preparation time, being just a bowl of sweetcorn and, in addition, when we ordered our food the restaurant was not busy.
When they eventually arrived, the burgers tasted good. However, we had to rush them as, like most working people, we only have a one hour lunch break.
Would I go back? Perhaps, but unlikely as life is too short.
