I could not be more ecstatic when FOFO, a restaurant serving contemporary Spanish food, opened in Hong Kong. I could not be more ecstatic when FOFO, a restaurant serving contemporary Spanish food, opened in Hong Kong.
Situated at the penthouse of M88 (building of Racks/Sushi Kuu/Beijing Club), one would immediately notice the Beautiful view of Central on one side, and the Mid-levels on the other.
I was so addicted to this restaurant, I used to go religiously every week for dinner (now slightly overdosed)..

LOVE Fofo's minimalistic decor and buzzing atmosphere. I always find FoFo a great place to host dinners or just dine with a group of friends. Their dishes are great for sharing and the tapas usually come in fours so ideally you'd go with a party of 4, you can't share that many dishes between 2 people anyway!
Warning: The tomato spread on bread they serve to you upon arrival are not that great. I would save my appetite for what comes next. Have tried some of their seafood dishes (scallop carpaccio/ garlic shrimp/ red shrimp pasta (special)).. in my opinion, such dishes were not that impressive....
Here are my recommendations * (after visiting 20+ times)
Balik Salmon Tapas - NEW on the menu and absolute BLISS! You get a fat piece of balik salmon curled up on top of a piece of goat cheese & beetroot, with a dap of honey and spinach leaf on a thin crispy slice of French Bread. Can have 10 of these!
Iberico Ham Croquettes - Love the mushy texture and crisp skin outside. I always order this because it goes well with other dishes! The iberico ham is kind of grinded up though so if you'd want a more substantial portion of ham I would go for the Iberico ham platter instead.
Beef cheeks on mini banana & passionfruit spring rolls - LOVE this dish, the beef cheeks are very tender and the flavour goes well with the crispy mini spring rolls. If you do not like cooked fruit in your dishes then I'd pass the spring roll along to your dining partner.
Organic egg on a nest of shoelace fries & onions with black truffle fois gras / chorizo / iberico ham: - This is my all time favourite dish, have tried all 3 lots of times and I think they're all worth ordering.. Just depends on your preference of toppings.Sometimes I get it plain because i Loveeee the crispy shoelace fries on their own.
Spanish chorizo omelette - Slightly inconsistent but on a good day it is the perfect round spanish omelette... LOVE the chorizo goes so well with the white sangria.
Whole Roasted Baby Suckling Pig ($1180HKD, must Reserve) - This dish is perfect for a party of 6-8 ppl. The baby suckling pig is comparatively more tender and juicy than the tapas version. A great dish to impress your guests as they show you the baby suckling pig (with an apple in its mouth), before serving. I think it is way better than the Suckling pig tapas - but then again big difference in price. I find the suckling pig tapas to be rather dry at times - Best to ask for extra gravy.
Seafood Paella - This is definitely my Favourite paella in town. The rice is cooked perfectly, kind of el dente, and when mixed with the Aioli cream (what looks like sour cream on top) is absolutely delightful! If you don't want spanish rice and prefer something different, I would order the Spanish dried noodles, same taste same presentation same toppings! A great dish to share between 4 people.
Pigeon rice with morels and fois gras - again NEW on the menu, a good change from the paella/spanish noodles, I found this dish to be very tasy and loved the morel-filled creamy rice. If you like dishes with a rich flavour, this is definitely one to order!
I must say I am not a big fan of their dessert. Have tried their Churros which are almost ALWAYS undercooked, even when refried just don't taste right. I hope by now they have improved... I always save space for dessert and go to Riquiqui instead which is a dessert bar in building next door.
If you like to drink, I highly recommend the White Sangria - what keeps me coming back!
They serve it in jugs as well but I personally think it taste better by the glass.
FOFO also serves Red and Rose sangria (not rose wine but white wine with grapefruit juice).. the White sangria is still my all time fav

While i was in Shanghai, I tried the original FoFo - called El Willy, and am Happy to say that FOFO in HK does better White Sangria and Chorizo Organic egg with shoelace fries - the Chorizo of the Shanghai version was mushed up. Was also lucky enough to meet Chef El Willy himself! What a treat.. even told him what a big fan I was of FoFo!
