U know, I really wasn't going to write my 2nd review so soon, but to give the shop a bit more time - but seeing how someone below obviously belonging to the Restaurant Group decided its cool to HELP their restaurant by copying my previous review then re-adjusting the 'score', I will then have no hesitation either to write about my 2nd visit, WARTS & ALL. BLACK PORK KUROBUTA FILLET SET:
In case you were wondering if I would be fair in this review, in light of what happened underneath, I can assure you this is 100% how we really felt, without exaggeration. Afterall, there is no point in lying as it'll ultimately be uncovered. The Kurobuta Fillet Version, as opposed to the Loin version I had last time, was over-cooked and tough, even chewy.
Comparing this to the YOKOHAMA ROMANKAN'S version is like the difference between night and day! Over there despite not using Kurobuta, it was slightly moist, almost tender. Here it took efforts to pull the stringy meat apart! The batter this time didn't really come off loosely, as what I heard from other Openrice contributors, but ultimately this was quite hard and rubbery. Let's just say, it was disappointing vs the hype. Not a bit of juiciness detectable, despite this being the usually softest fillet/tenderloin part! SCORE: 2.5/5
TOMATO SALAD:
This was peeled already and quite refreshing, but came with a whole heap of Garlic-based taste which over-powered the tomatoes a bit! As my friend would put it accurately - it lacked real tomato taste, but the supporting garlicky sauce was interesting I guess... The shredded lettuce underneath meanwhile, were slightly too soggy. The tomato could do with a bit more ripeness and sweetness. SCORE: 3.5/5

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHEN THIS PLACE FIRST OPENED, I JUST CAME ACROSS IT BY ACCIDENT 1 DAY. BUT ITS ALREADY BEEN NEARLY A WEEK BETWEEN MY 1st AND 2nd VISIT. IF THIS SHOP DOESNT IMPROVE MAJORLY SOON, I DON'T THINK IT WILL SURVIVE FOR MUCH LONGER - DOING DODGY STUFF BEHIND CUSTOMERS BACK AND NOT LISTENING TO CRITICISM. BESIDES, I HAVE HEARD I AM NOT THE 1ST CUSTOMER TO HAVE COMPLAINED.
I HAVE HAD BETTER TONKATSU'S AT 石山、元気一杯, 板前四季, 大戸屋 AS OF LATE, TONKICHI & OBVIOUSLY ROMANKAN YOKOHAMA. I HAVE EVEN MADE A BETTER VERSION MYSELF BEFORE, ANYONE ON MY FACEBOOK WOULD HAVE SEEN THE PHOTOS... THIS TIME AROUND - IT REALLY WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH. MY FRIEND WAS CLOSE TO ASKING ME TO REFUND HIS MONEY, FOR TAKING HIM HERE FOR TESTING!
