Dined with gourmet friend at this cafe situated at the Landmark and tried out the Restaurant Week promotions. Dined with gourmet friend at this cafe situated at the Landmark and tried out the Restaurant Week promotions. We started off with a bellini each - mine was lychee liqueur based which went fairly well with sparkling wine. The soft dinner rolls were fresh and warm - which whetted our appetites. The appetizer consisted of crab cake (crispy), a lobster jelly-terrine (one could taste the lobster flavour though it was a bit watery prepared in this form) and salad. The aroma of the mushroom-black truffle soup was captivating. We shared the main courses - the cooked sea bass was fresh and outdid the lobster while the tenderloin was just right at medium rare though the chef could be slightly more generous with the gravy. The sides were the usual (potatoes lyonnaise), there was a glitch when we were served with the fried bacon on the side afterwards. We were grateful the dessert was not as heavy as it appeared and the raspberry ice cream and raspberries made a nice balance. The service was excellent and the staff were attentive to minor details, rendering this a very pleasant meal.
