I always see pictures of Teawood's beautifully layered desserts, and after an early dinner my friend and I foolishly thought that we could avoid the crowd by going early. We were obviously wrong as we still waited for about an hour. Environment & Hygiene:Nothing special. With all the cafe decor, I felt it was trying to be a sit and chill place, but that failed for me. Service:There were no smiles on anyone's face, and no one bothered to fill my cup of water until I asked.
Taste & Value:
Looking at thier menu, we didn't really know what to get, but we ended up getting the Chocolate Vanila Honey Toast ($68) and my friend got a Cold Fruit Drink.
The fruit drink really did have chunks of fresh fruit in it like strawberries, blueberries etc..Also, I was surprised that it wasn't loaded with syrup. It was not very sweet, and had the acidity of the fruit. It was okay.
1 scoop of chocolate ice cream on top of 3 thick pieces of toast with whipped cream and strawberries. Ha, that is exactly all it was. The top piece of toast was hollow to fit the ice cream in. The ice cream and cream tasted cheap, and the toast was hard. Just certain parts of the toast had honey. For $68 I could use 1 tub of Häagen-Dazs with a whole loaf of toast. Words can't even describe how disappointed I was with the dessert. Why do people wait hours for something that you can so easily put together at home, which tastes so plain!?
Final Verdict:I liked nothing of this place. I wouldn't bother going again.
