Used to visit often when it first opened a number of years ago. Lunch today was not-so-enjoyable. Food: Cream of Mushroom soup: bettter than the average, but not what i'd call 'tasty'. It was not mushroomy enough. It was a bit diluted. and it wasn't smooth. I think they put too much salt. Grilled Chicken with string beans and portobello: this was pretty good. Chicken soft and tender. String beans properly seasoned. And the sauce was nice, dunno what it was though. Spinach penne with grilled veg

Spinach penne with grilled vegetables bad bad really bad. penne was kind of raw. no sauce at all. devoid of taste. Grilled vegetables weren't seasoned properly. Bitter and stiff. It was a pretty disgusting dish. And the basil leaves + chopped parsley did not make it taste any better. I also discovered that I do not like the taste of fennel. a bitter disappointment, literally.
Ox-tail with brown rice When you think of this dish you'd envisage a good few pieces of ox tail, bone in tact, juicy. No. this one was more like ox tail shreds with a brown rice which resembled a risotto, but of an inferior quality. In fact when I tasted it I thought it was a risotto gone bad. Only after I checked the menu did I realize that it was in fact supposed to be brown rice.
Dessert platter (chocolate in cheesecake; walnut brownie) I suppose this is the only other good thing about the entire meal. Lovely cheesecake. Yep. Brownie was a bit too floury and i didn't like the walnut. I prefer Betty Crocker's. But this one wasn't bad.
Conclusion: Will still return. The setting is nice and everything looks clean. The pastries look delicious, so do the cakes. Hoping for improvement
