1. I strongly recommend you to visit Hono Tenndon. It’s a very welcoming Japanese restaurant that serves great Japanese don (rice bowl) made with quality Japanese rice; tempura and Japanese beer. The shop manger is so friendly that tops up our dining experience.2. We were served cold lemon water once we were seated. Shortly after that, meso soup with bits of dried soy bean pockets were served. You know it’s legit when there are dried soy bean pockets!
3. To begin with, you can choose rice or noodles (soba/udon). And then you can pick a topping to go with. Not super lots of choice, but I guess they specialize in what they are good at making. I chose fried chicken, my friend chose pork with vegetables.
4. We were very happy with our dons. The Japanese rice, which is smaller and rounder than what we usually have, are very delicious. Toppings are fantastic. We swapped and tried both chicken and pork. So so good!
5. The deep fried onsen egg is definitely a highlight! How could you fried it but still keeps the runny egg yolk inside?! I poked it and let the yolk mix with the rice. Remember to try their rice seasoning powder as suggested in the menu! It definitely sent us to heaven!
