As most of other japanese oriented restaurants part of the kitchen staff works right in front of the customers. It looks nice but all the orders cooks shout to each other makes the place a bit too noisy if you stay too close to them.
Taste: Both Ramen and Rice sets taste as they should. I think the soy sauce is a bit tasteless but that's not extremely important. As long as you stay away from the sushi they sell (it's a ramen place, no point in asking for good sushi) you won't be disappointed.
The portions are pretty abundant but you can still order some 'snacks' for 20$ to fill you up in case you are not.
Tempura rice tastes great and most of the Ramen is good, but I didn't try too much of it.
Service: The place is more English friendly than you might think before going in. The menu is completely bi-lingual so ordering a-la-carte is not difficult. There are also a few waitress who speak English well enough to solve any unexpected problem. They'll probably be the one take your order if you look western.
There is a nice counter where people are seated if they came in alone. Being this place just in front of the cooks it tends to be a bit noisy but there are many occasions when I have to dine alone and I appreciate places that have counters like this one.
Price: It costs less than the OpenRice.com price tag displays. A simple rice set, more than enough food into that, is around 50$. They serve a bitter tea for free but drinks cost 12$ each. Some people find ramen more than enough to quench their thirst, I tend to drink even more when I'm having that, so bills tend to inflate.
Regardless I've never spent more than 100$ for this restaurant. Yet, for 100$ you can pretty much eat everywhere in Hong Kong.
Cleanliness: It looks clean enough on the tables, the counter looks a bit more "used" but nothing unacceptable. I have never noticed any bad smell and even as a ramen place, soup's odour is very light and not a problem.
Overall: A nice place for an evening. It's one of those restaurants I'd eat in a lot if it was a bit less expensive. Still not bad to check out once in a while to have some Japanese food that does not involve finely cut raw fish.
If you like Ramen, then it's a must.
