Long time no eat 鳗魚飯! Speaking of 鳗魚飯, Cafe Paradise must be one of the best places to go because they offered 蒲燒原條鳗魚飯 at a very cheap price! This time we went to Prince Edward branch. Their lunch sets were really super great deals, ranging from $58 to $89. Salads, pastas, rice, steak etc. were available. The menu said 10% service charge applied. We basically always ordered this dish here because it was absolutely cheap with a whole grilled unagi at just $78, not to mention the other complimentary items of the lunch set. The unagi was so yummy and nicely grilled with slightly bouncy texture and sufficient sauce. Some herbs were sprinkled on the unagi. It went great with the hot plain rice at the bottom. The salad on the side was some greens in Japanese-style sesame dressing. The sesame dressing was very light this time.
紐西蘭一級西冷扒配薯菜 at $89
We also ordered another lunch set of 紐西蘭一級西冷扒. We could choose either rice, spaghetti or potato wedges and we went for the last. The steak was not fully cooked and was a little bit pink inside. It was not hard to cut (even the tendon and fat). The quality of the steak was ok. Gravy sauce was served on the side. There were quite a lot of deep-fried potato wedges accompanying the steak. They were well seasoned and freshly deep fried with crispy crust and starchy interior. They went great with the ketchup served on the side. Same as the other dish, there were some greens in a very light Japanese-style sesame dressing.

Daily soup was Mushroom Soup. They were served very hot, great for the cold weather. They were super creamy and reasonably thick with some mashed mushrooms.
西柚梳打 (included in lunch set)
A daily special drink, lemon tea, lemon water or milk tea was included in the lunch set. The daily special drink was this Grapefruit Soda. It was not overly sweet at all but good to relieve thirst. They were going environmentally friendly to skip straws for this drink.

Another reason why their lunch sets were of great value was that only a top up of $10 was required to get a special drink. Such option included so many different drinks on their drinks menu even for smoothies. My all-time-favourite drink here was Mango Smoothie. This time I decided to try something new. This Strawberry Smoothie was equally giant. I had to emphasise that it was not sweet at all and the flavour was not artificial with some real strawberry seeds. It made me feel freezing cold after finishing it haha.
Service was very efficient that our orders arrived very soon. Some customers came on their own for a quick lunch. With a good drink and a good mains, the cost was below $100 per head.
