I am definitely more of a morning person, as I am often very motivated to get up early, get my to-do-list out of the way and start a fresh new day with a scrumptious breakfast. I know it's somehow extraordinary, but sleeping in even during the weekends has never been a thing for me as there is always something to look forward to and not a single second of my holiday should go to waste.
Last Sunday, my friends and I have come to explore the French style brunch in PMK. With the hype and noise about this place, it was totally full house that day we went, and we managed to bumped into quite a few old friends as well!
The weekend brunch serves from 11:30am to 3:30pm, $388 per head which includes a salad & dessert buffet, a main course, and you can also add extra for the daily soup (+$48) and a fresh made ice tea or smoothie (+$38 - 48).
Smoked Salmon, Spinach, Egg, Homemade Hollandise Sauce on English Muffin
The classic Egg Royale was done perfectly, was the muffin crunchy on the edges, spongy inside to absorb the runny yolk. Spinach inside was breatifully creamy, with this oily, luscious salmon together makes this classic egg royale excels.
Parma Ham, White Mushrooms & Parmesan Cheese Omelette, New Potatoes with Herbs
To my surprise, this omelette was actually my favourite main of all. It was so thick and fluffy, with a generous amount of mushrooms inside.
Pan-seared Scallop with Sun-dried Tomato & Orzo Pasta
Scallop was nicely prepared, silky and flavourful. The orzo pasta was cooked to slightly chewy, which was delicious with the sweet sauce.
Pan-fried sea bass, Sautéed Mushrooms with Cous Cous & Lemon Grass Butter Sauce
Sea bass had its skin crispy, the flesh being moist and flaky. Nothing too wow but simple and delicate.
Pumpkin Risotto with Brussels Sprouts, Pine nuts & Parmesan Flakes
The pumpkin flavour was very mild, but i quite liked it the roasted pine nut inside because it sort of added a subtle twist to this earthy vegetarian dish. The portion was rather petit but it's enough as a rice dish in this full volume brunch.
Without doubt, this modern bistro gallery is a nice place to chill and relax during the weekend. However perhaps there have been too many choices for weekend brunch around this area and so the unique selling point of this place becomes vague and ambiguous. I must say dinner here is more impressive and it's definitely worth coming back for.
