I chose this place based on the rave reviews I saw and was looking forward to it after work, how disappointed I was by the food but mainly by the rudeness of the 'boss'. How I knew she was the boss due to many 'regular' customers on larger table addressing her by this. She was especially nice to them due to the their larger numbers, she was also nice to 'tourists' but not smaller tables so i assume her attitude was based on potential spending. She was especially nice to them due to the their larger numbers, she was also nice to 'tourists' but not smaller tables so i assume her attitude was based on potential spending. This wasn't the only thing that annoyed me a lot as we were also paying customers, who order several items to share and a rice n noodle each. She made the comment that we order so little and wasn't enough (I was surprised she was able to gauge my hunger based on my physical appearance). Also my girlfriend ordered a hot water which wasn't provided until I ordered a beer (showing a clearly spending orientated service). The last straw was when she literally threw my card and the bill in the middle of the table after signing, no thanks was given either. In my opinion, as a boss lacking the simple based attitude are the worst properties of a boss. This place represents the lack of passion in catering after a restaurant makes it famous and the boss is only concerned with 'paying the bills'.
To be honest, the environment is quite nice in terms of decor with many vietnamese hats hanging from the ceiling and the wall being padded with straw to give it a village feel. The atmosphere is quite light and the other staff were polite making it comfortable establishment to eat in without the boss i believe.
However, the shredded chick pho was below average with limited meat and the soup lacked flavour unlike a soup that should be boiled for many hours and tasted the same as a cheap bowl of noodles.
The vegetable fried with garlic were very oily and coated in it making a once healthy dish, fast food.
The deep fried chicken curry rice wasn't actually really well made with dry but crunchy exterior and a bit of heat to the curry with the right consistency, quite tasty.
Overall, a terrible dining experience that i would recommend other to avoid to save time and money spent somewhere that appreciates customers and enjoys cooking food for them.
