I happened to be in Sheung Wan and decided to go for something Chinese rather than Western so I headed here and asked for their daily menu. They were doing a number of items but I went for the pork soft cartilage with dumplings in Mixian ($56). This lunch set came with a drink and I paid $2 more for spicy soup base as I love spicy food. It didn’t take long at all for the meal to arrive. The first thing I saw were the big pieces of pork cartilage on the top with 3 or 4 dumplings floating  around

They were doing a number of items but I went for the pork soft cartilage with dumplings in Mixian ($56). This lunch set came with a drink and I paid $2 more for spicy soup base as I love spicy food. It didn’t take long at all for the meal to arrive. The first thing I saw were the big pieces of pork cartilage on the top with 3 or 4 dumplings floating  around them with some basil. They didn’t taste too soaked up in the soup so eat them before they all submerge under! The cartilage was easy to tear apart and tender but there could have been more taste to the dumplings. The Mixian though, I thought could be less soft and it tasted as if they had been cooked for some time. At first sight, I couldn’t tell their soup base would be as spicy as it was so next time make sure to ask for less spicy if you dare to go for the spicy soup base but want something less intense. Also, even though I ordered no ice and no sugar lemon tea, they still came with a less ice and less sugar one. As tasty the drink was, it wasn’t exactly what I asked for so hopefully next time they could pay closer attention to what the customers want. I am still willing to give this restaurant another try though.
