Ellipsis Cafe & Lounge is one of those cafes that was popular on social media for it's many mirrors were people can take selfies. When we arrived for a brunch, we discovered just that. It was brunch day, so we ordered some food and drinks.Boyfriend had the Berry Bloom Smoothie ($68). This was a blueberry, strawberry, raspberry and apple juice combination. Not too sweet with the ice finely crushed.
As I wanted coffee, I had an Ice Bailey's Latte ($52). The coffee was nutty with the addition of Bailey's which made it even smoother. Not too much milk was added so the flavours weren't diluted.
We shared a snack of Bacon and Cheese Potato Ball ($58). These were really good. I think my favorite of everything we chose. The balls were piping hot and filled with melty cheese. Bits of bacon were found throughout the soft fluffy mashed potatoes. All served with mayo for dipping.
Boyfriend had the Chicken Pasta with Creamy Sauce ($148). A large piece of chicken thigh was placed on top of the generous serving of pasta. The cream sauce was thick and exceptionally sweet. The chicken thigh was perfectly cooked and glazed with a very sweet teriyaki style sauce.
I had the Lobster Croissant ($168) which is oddly spelled wrong on the menu. I'm unsure if they know that or was it intentional? The croissant was buttery and flakey. It was filled to the brim with avocado mixed with lobster meat and what appeared to be a claw. A huge pile of salad with a simple dressing was served on the side.
Nice brunch food with a good cup of coffee. The setting is relaxed and spacious. And despite the several people doing selfies, it's oddly quiet as well.
