Tell you something of a blunder I made first - the last time I wrote a review of here, the coffees I had were made so badly I had little mood to type if it properly, and I just discovered I had 手快快懶叻 written that they could have made much better drinks on those coffee beans and their branded coffee machine - except I actually typed that wrong. "CAFFE LATTE -"
This was very good for a Simplylife, but beware that most other outlets use Super-Automatic machines. Completely heaps and bounds better compared to what I got offered once every few months before here. Earthily aromatic, it carried a malty, roasted nutty dustiness in the mouthfeel, surprisingly with a very abrupt dry finish but without the acid normally associated with this feeling. Milk was textured pretty well but could still be smoother. Enjoyable and right up there with the likes of Soul Mate, Coffee Assembly, Essenza, etc.
"BREAD WITH HAM AND CHEESE -"
I think that's what I ordered, it was meant to be heated up slightly but by the time I got the table it was stone-cold again. This looked way better than it tasted, as with just about any bread sold in Simplylife - they're just too localised somehow in terms of taste and softness, its just like normal Maxim's bread. I normally prefer Simplylife's pastry based selections much more for that reason.
IF THIS KEEPS UP, IT WILL BE A NICE ALTERNATIVE TO FUEL UPSTAIRS AND EVEN IFC'S MCCAFE. VERGNANO 1882 WOULD BE MY DISTANT 4th CHOICE AFTER THESE.
