8 including me came here for dinner in celebration of my little cousin's birthday! Environment & Hygiene:This was probably the smallest Pizza Express that I have been to. Also, not the most comfortable one. Oh well, at least it was clean and tidy; hygiene was okay. Service:Service was prompt, and the servers were very patient with us as we kept adding to our order. This was probably the smallest Pizza Express that I have been to. Also, not the most comfortable one. Oh well, at least it was clean and tidy; hygiene was okay.
Service:
Service was prompt, and the servers were very patient with us as we kept adding to our order.
Taste & Value:I like visiting restaurants with a big crowd, as that means I get to try more dishes.
Here is what we got:
1. Spaghetti Al Granchio This was a new item on the menu. It was a bit spicy because of the chilli flakes, and a bit sour because of the crème fraîche. I was surprised that it actually had a fair amount of crab it it. This pasta was quite tasty.
2. Nostrana This salad had chunks of chicken, avocado, baby potatoes, green beans, peppers and eggs mixed with mixed greens and a house dressing served on the side. All salads taste the same to me as I tend to use little or no dressing. However, they salad had some good ingredients, but not worth $100 I think.
3. Luguria This pizza had prawns, mussels, squid, clams, anchovies, olives, breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, lemon with a bechamel sauce on a thin crust. It was okay, but nothing too special.
4. Spaghetti Carbonara This carbonara was good. The sauce was quite thick, and the meat was probably the most dominant flavour. It reminded me of my own recipe because . I would say it was an North American take on this Italian classic.
5. Neptune This pizza was disappointing. It was basically canned tuna on tomato based pizza. I'm not sure I liked the tuna with the tomato sauce, so I didn't really like this. I wouldn't get it again.
6. Farfalle ai Funghi This pasta was okay. It had a fair amount of mushrooms, and had way too much truffle oil that made it the only thing you could taste and oily.
7. Il Sorriso This was the best tasting pizza out of the 3. The smoked honey chicken was roasted quite nicely. The ricotta on top also was tasty on a pizza.
8. Dough Balls with Nutella Booking a table online gives you 1 free order of this. In order for us all to try some, we added an order. You'd like this if you like Nutella. The dough balls were warm and soft. Quite a plain dish.
Final Verdict:I remember the pizzas being bigger. Overall everything was okay, but nothing really stood out. I think their pastas are better than their pizzas.
