forget about paying $$$$ to have xmas eve dinner in a fancy restaurant! it turned out that the best bargain celebration dinner is just around the corner. no advance booking needed!the restaurant is not too small, with comfy seatings. we came for lunch a few days ago & was impressed with the good food. the shanghai dumplings 小籠包 were juicy & tender. the toasted pancake with beef 醬燒牛展夾餅 was made differently from most shanghai places. the beef itself could be more tender & less chewy. the baked tur
the restaurant is not too small, with comfy seatings. we came for lunch a few days ago & was impressed with the good food. the shanghai dumplings 小籠包 were juicy & tender. the toasted pancake with beef 醬燒牛展夾餅 was made differently from most shanghai places. the beef itself could be more tender & less chewy. the baked turnip tart 蘿蔔絲酥餅 was moist & tasty. the noodle with hot & sour soup for sauce 酸辣湯拉麵 was very good.
now for the dinner, ham gelatin 水晶肴肉 and pan-fried pork bun 生煎包 were good. chili dumplings 紅油抄手 were perfectly done. the deep fried pork ribs with ramen noodles 排骨拉麵 were crispy. the noodles were al dente too. for dessert, the deep-fried "souffle" with red bean paste filling 高力豆沙 was exceptionally tasty. the fried fish 松子桂魚 was the only disappointment that night. the fish was not really fresh and the sauce on top tasted more like sweet and sour sauce than anything special.
i did not find the service any problem. the staff was busy that night, but kept their duty promptly. the captain was helpful too.
