Ordered a Beef Single Pattie Burger with Cheese and Mustard Mayo :Buns are toasted quite well. Even though there are virtually only 2-3 suppliers for burger buns in Hong Kong therefore they all have a Hong Kongnised 'fluffy' texture, the shop can make up for this weakness through better toasting.Lettuce and Tomato - fresh and 'cold' as it should be crunchy. Buns are toasted quite well. Even though there are virtually only 2-3 suppliers for burger buns in Hong Kong therefore they all have a Hong Kongnised 'fluffy' texture, the shop can make up for this weakness through better toasting.
Lettuce and Tomato - fresh and 'cold' as it should be crunchy. Cheese wasn't too necessary in this burger in the end as it wasn't too dry.
Mustard Mayo Sauce - its the standard burger sauce here but other burgers have say Thai spicy sauces and its inter-exchangeable. This has a little bit of 'heat' in it. I think this goes well in burgers generally. Having said that, this 'white & yellow sauce' was a bit Hong Kong-nised and too simple and its only 'half the equation' for a burger's sauces.
Beef Pattie - I actually did not like this much. It had a lot of pulverised bits of very chewy beef tendons as pointed out by reviewer below and also like Pro-Burger, tasted like it had a lot of bread mixed in as filler. The meat inside was off-white rather than a natural beef colour, reminiscent of 時新 & Freshness Burger. I felt it was rather gritty in texture after it got more cooler and I had to keep spitting out little trapped pieces of tendon which made me feel a bit 'cheated' as burgers aren't suppose to be like that. Kinda of a first experience for me, eating a 磨砂漢堡. Not enough beef taste but better than Pro-Burger's overwhelmingly Thyme herb infused annoying flavour. Here it was also oozing out transparent juices.
If they improve in due time, I might give them more chances. Otherwise, there are better choices out there for now. No photos as I wanted to remain anonymous, knowing that my review wasn't going to be positive and I might get bashed or bitten by some dog if I revisit again But will be back to try. Low - mid '3'.
