I was craving Avocado Toast on Sourdough Bread again after having a delicious one at NINETYs. In SSP so searched for any nearby and this was the only one.
When I was ready to order and signaled the waitress, she had the audacity to wave me off because another customer was holding money, even though I signaled first. That interaction itself already made my mood sour 😐.
The restaurant size is also quite small and there is limited seating. Many seats are on bar tables and stools so I don’t recommend having large parties here or people who enjoy back support.

Avocado & Tomato Salsa Open Sourdough Toast $85
The presentation was very nice but sadly, the toast was played on the left side of the plate and I had to move it to the middle for a decent photo, this made the oil that gathered at the bottom to form a stain.
The Sourdough toast is lightly grilled which gave it a good crunch and prevented it from getting too stale and soggy. However, the middle of the toast is completely soaked with the balsamic liquid from the salsa and is very strong in flavor. The texture also became quite mushy 😔. The edge of the toast is perfectly crunchy and pairs well with the avocado and tomatoes.
The avocado is sliced thinly and all very fresh and green. They were all slanted as well so each bite I got a thick piece of avocados.
The tomato salsa is very generously given. The tomato pieces were not small like an actual salsa but big pieces so you get to eat the fresh tomatoes too. This was very good with the toast and avocado but there is just too much liquid in it as it made the toast soggy and overly seasoned.
There was also a heavy drizzle of olive oil on top and around the plate which made the dish much heavier.
The price of this is rather high as the previous avocado toast I had was at NINETYs the day before and they gave me 2 pieces of sourdough toast, 1 whole avocado and 2 poached eggs along with a number of toppings and dressings for only $128 whereas here, I only got 1 sourdough toast with half an avocado and a salsa for $85.

Free Range Drunken Spring Chicken (啤酒意大利走地春雞) $138
Half of a small chicken was served which meant not a lot of meat but the flavor is roasted perfectly and the meat is very tender. There was not a lot of beer taste which was good and the scallion oil on top definitely reminded me of 燒味 😅, I didn’t understand it with the western dish but the flavor was still good.
This was served with 2 big baby carrots that were longer than the chicken and a generous portion of potato wedges. The carrots were roasted well but could use more seasoning. The potatoes were quite oily as it all gathered in the bottom of the serving bowl.
This bowl also made it very hard to eat with the fork and knife but it appears all their mains are served in this bowl 🤨.

This toast and chicken was definitely delicious but there is definitely better ones out there. I recommend this is what I’ve described suits your taste and preference.

💬 Overall, this cafe is okay for photos and tea time if you are in the neighborhood, but no need to come all the way over to try out.
