My visit to the nostalgic steakhouse on Prince Edward Road transported me back to the European restaurants of the 1980s and 90s. The interior design is full of vintage charm, with classic European elements creating a cosy, nostalgic atmosphere. The open kitchen shows the cooking process clearly, which is interesting but also brings a bit of oil smoke, so be prepared for that.
When the meal started, I was served a hot bread roll with butter — it smelt great and was a good start. Then I tried the upgraded cream puff soup. The pastry was crispy and tasty, but the soup itself was a bit bland and lacked a strong flavour. Still, it didn’t ruin the overall experience.
For the main dish, I ordered the Wellington beef fillet cooked to medium rare. The beef had some fat but was tender and tasty. Pairing it with their special sauce made the flavour even better. I also had crispy French fries and a fresh salad to go with it, which balanced the meal nicely.
Overall, I had a pleasant dining experience. The best part about this restaurant is that it offers classic, high-quality dishes at a reasonable price. It’s especially popular with students because it’s affordable but still tasty.
