Found out about this place because of Spicygal's review.I am not a health freak but i like different drinks, the particular one she had was really interesting because it had Kale. After browsing the website there were four drinks I was interested inink panther: water, himalayan salt, lemon, lime, raw agave, acai.Sweet dreams: water, raw cashew, raw cacao, raw agave, cinnamon, coconut flower sugar and pink himalayan salt.Four Leaf clover: spinach, apple, parsley, himalayan salt.Hulk: cucumber, celery, parsley, and cayenne. Each drink has its own groovy name. You can buy them in packs of six bottles for $600 which is for the day, and you replace having meals with these drinks. When I got there, there was a lorry infront of the shop, so I could not take pictures of the shop front. When I left it was still there! You will have to see the shop front yourself or in Spicygal's review. The juice of the day was the Palm tree or the Garden gnome which was already ready made in the fridge and in plastic cups. The Garden gnome was just apple, pineapple, ginger, pear and spirulina.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★Palm Tree:The palm tree was kale and pineapple. When it was in the fridge, the kale had settled to the bottom so you could see there was about 10% Kale and 90% Pineapple. But anyway before they give it to you, they will mix it together. When I tried it, the pineapple taste was really prominent and not so much of Kale.I was hoping for more kale in the drink even if it meant the taste would not be that nice and more vegetable and fruit solids in the drink because the purpose of these drinks are for detox and health, not for the taste.★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★☆★ 繼續閱讀

Effectively, I came 2 months late.I first heard about The Genie Concept in around August when it took part in Table for Two Hong Kong's Healthy Summer Dining Experience (learn more about TFT at www.tablefor2.org.hk). Back then the drink being offered for the cause was fresh organic pineapple & kale juice which was pretty interesting yet I didn't make it in time to have a try. While the shop started off as one of HK's first establishments to provide fruit juice-based body cleanses  (which cost at least $600 per day but are still hugely popular),  it also offers single retail-size cups of juices and smoothies for the health-conscious who ate not yet adventurous enough to venture into the world of juice detox. The shop is located in New Street near the blooming chic cultural and culinary area in Sheung  Wan. Tucked away among schools and funeral services shops (!), The Genie Concept (Genie) is a little green sanctuary. Simply decorated inside, you can sit in front of the 'window' in the shopfront for a leisurely sip of juice.Well, perhaps i was destined to have that fresh organic pineapple & kale juice, which was the Juice of the Day ($45) on the day I popped into Genie. (They have a fancy name for this: the Palm Tree.) Genie's juices are freshly pressed with a Norwalk hydraulic juicer which gently extracts the most out of raw fruits and vegetables so presumably the juices are very  nutritional. Taste-wise, the combination of pineapple and kale isn't as weird as I originally thought (think the bitter-ish boiled kale that your mom made you eat, or the 芥蘭 from noodle shops), the bitterness isn't there but rather the pineapple's sweetness takes the stage despite the juice's chlorophyll-rich appearance. Hey that means it's packed with antioxidants which are good for you!I'd have to say while the prices for the juice cleanses are intimidating, this is a decent pit stop for that occasional system cleanup if you are around here. But if you're ready for the challenge, order through Genie's website or give them a call. 繼續閱讀
