Super Monday in Soho - buy 1 get 1 free for all main course in a lot of different venues. So I went to shop around on Elgin Street with my co-worker after work. Finally we arrived at Soho Spice, which has got a lot of good comments from my friends - so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the Green Papaya Salad ($62), Mixed Vegetable Thai Green Curry (around $90) and Vegetable Dumpling with Baked Egg Plants (around $90). The Green Papaya Salad - very fresh - very herby. The Green Papaya Salad - very fresh - very herby. However the green papaya salad was too soft - I wonder why. Usually it's a bit more crunchy. But overall it tastes very well.
Mixed Vegetable Thai Green Curry - tasted excellent. thumbs up! Not too heavy. With a lot of fresh ingredients. The tofu looked home-made, freshly deep-fried, although I am not sure if this was the case. Definitely an excellent choice for vegetarians. Quite cheap too (on super Monday).
Vegetable Dumpling with Baked Egg Plants - didnt know it was deep-fried and I am never a big fan of deep-fried stuff. So I didn't really like it. However the eggplant soaked in the sauce tastes quite nice. The dish is a bit heavy for me tho.
Also order fresh apple juice and young coconut - freshy and helps to wash away the heavy taste of the dumpling sauce.
I should also mention that they have very friendly and attentive services.
