for starter, we ordered the spinach salad, it was a perfect portion to share between 2-3 ppl. this salad was delicious, pecan, cheese, sunflower seeds were tossed with a sweet and tangy, homemade dressing creating a crowd-pleasing spinach salad. My friend didnt like salad in general, but even she finished the plate.
WOW!! ribs have always been my favourite, but it isnt easy to find one restaurant that does it right. here, the ribs absolutly made me went WOW for a couple of times. The ribs were everything I hoped they would be: tender and juicy, they fell off the bone like ribs should and a little sweet on the meat side. I'm guessing they got a healthy dose of sauce while cooking.

Found out they had gumbo this week so this was what I went for!!
To be honest, I have not had much luck with Restoration because every tuesday they have the all you can eat fried chicken and I happen to be busy.
It was PIPING hot and I could barely hold the cup.
We both started off with soups. My friend with the Soup of the Day - Cauliflower Cream Soup, a luscious, rich and thick soup charateristic of most cream based soups. There was nothing to complain about this dish, but on the other hand, nothing too special about it either.
For myself, I ordered a quinessentially Louisiana dish - Seafood Gumbo. It was thicker than expected, with an almost chili-like texture, but a wonderful medley of flavors from the stewed vegatables and spices, and the occassional scallops and prawns swimming in the stew gave it some bite, while the slight intensity of the peppers provided the kick. Despite the okra, which I'm not particularly fond of, this was easily my favorite dish here. Also Ceelo Green's blaring tenor voice in the background somehow perfectly complemented this soup.
Next up was the main, a Penne Jambalaya, an unexpectedly spicy dish. In fact, so spicy that my friend couldn't taste the paprika on his side of Fries (+$25) after. It was a twist on the tradionally rice-based jambalaya, just substituting Penne as the key carbohydrate. Flavors were still wonderfully packed with cajun spices, with a good amount of smokiness and spiciness (that I suspect came from the Andouille), and well-seasoned chunks of meat. I prefer the traditional version, but this one was still delicious, especially if you enjoy the extra heat! For a dish like this, they (the mystery curators) paired it with Johnny Cash's cover of Personal Jesus and Hurt in his amazing raspy barritone voice.
The BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich also did not disappoint (It's actually a burger). The pulled pork was smokey and succulent with strands of fibres that fell apart in your mouth, and was accompanied by a sweet honey-like sauce and sharp pungent purple onions. A nice touch was the slightly charred bun that had a crunch to it. This is a wonderfully satisfying sandwich, and ranks right up there with the roast beef sandwich at Westwood Carvery (still the winner for me though ;p ), just remember to add the Tobasco or Crystal hot sauce to bring it to the next level! If I may mention, we had John Legend accompanying us on this one.

The oysters were coated in delicious cornmeal which was light and crispy.
The catfish was also coated in the same delicious cornmeal, but the catfish was slightly saltier.
Bit dry and hard
The way the bread was presented in a paper bag was quirky and reinforced the creole rustic theme of the restaurant.
I ordered the blackened catfish with stuffed lump crab meat. It was extremely good. I've never had catfish before. Portion was huge, the fish was moist and perfectly seasoned. The crab filling was great. Would highly recommend this one.
My boyfriend ordered the Jambalaya. It was ok. The rice wasn't flavourful enough. The prawns were fine, but we were expecting more from the Jamabalaya as it sounded more exciting on the menu.
2 otherfriends ordered 2 different steaks. We found the Top Choice Ribeye more tender and juicy compared to the Prime New York Strip. The fat strips inside the steak were a little chewy. Both perfectly cooked to medium-rare. This restaurant knows how to do a steak.
You do need to order sides at Restoration as the mains don't come with condiments. The bone marrow mashed potato was delicious and the mashed potato texture was super creamy and well-seasoned. The asparagus was chargrilled and on the softer side. We preferred it that way. I'd recommend both sides.
We were really full but wanted to try a dessert considering we were getting 2 mains with the app for free. The waiter recommended the Ridiculousness which is a cookie sandwich ice cream. We actually laughed when it came because it did look ridiculous, but it was actually ridiculously good. The cookies are slightly soft in the middle so that you can squish it into the ice cream. A calorific mouthful of heaven.
是日午餐以salad & pasta buffet開始，選擇十分多樣化又清新健康，媽媽前後吃了兩大碟!
其後的主菜就可享「買一送一」優惠，十分著數! 這份Penne Jambalaya($100) 有鮮蝦、雞肉、辣肉腸等，滋味豐富又惹味，加上長通粉煮得彈牙，挺吸引的!
Softshell Crab Po' Boys($100) 也很吸引，香脆而碩大的軟殼蟹舖滿潛艇包，加上清新的配料，午餐來一份真是幸福!
媽媽想念蟹餅已一段時間，是日又點了一份Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes($288)，蟹餅非常巨大，煎得香脆可口，中間蟹肉成絲相當足料，襯以清新火箭菜不會膩滯，食畢非常滿足!!
接著的BBQ Duck($298) 份量又是巨大，除了鴨胸還有鴨腿一大隻，適合多人分享；由於鴨胸經過dry aged風乾處理，肉味很濃而鴨皮香酥帶脆，襯上紅椒醬竟有點似廣式燒鵝滋味，非常特別!
最後還有Chicken Stuffed Chicken($210)，由香蒜牛油、檸檬及新鮮香草醃起的雞隻嫩滑又入味，而且份量也是十足呢!
豐富的一頓當然少不了甜品，反正由主菜節省回來的金額夠吃好幾款甜品了；事實上，這裡的甜品相當出色，不能錯過呢! 首先是Strawberry Mini Cake($68)，其實份量也不小，鬆軟香甜的夾餅中是清新甜美的士多啤梨，相當討喜呢!
由冧酒醬及雲尼拿雪糕組成的Banana Fosters($108) 更是甜美醉人，而口感集清脆、軟滑於一身，十分美妙，可始終帶有酒精成分，媽媽不敢多吃了~
來到Ridiculousness($98) 甜魔媽媽就再也忍不住，要大開甜戒了! 因為，那香甜又鬆軟的厚身美式曲奇本身已經很好吃，還襯以香滑的夾心雪糕，以及額外加添的朱古力醬，美味啊!

Amazingly the sandwich tasted almost as good as it looked too. The well seasoned batter was crispy and the crab was soft and fresh. It was served with a remoulade sauce on the side that complemented the crab well. The only negative was the bread, it was too thick and soft, a thin baguette would have been better.
