I always wanted to give this cute corner diner a try. I saw a Groupon deal a couple of weeks ago and decided to give this a try. The food was fair -- not the most authentic but not bad for a small diner. The soup and appetizer were ok. The Burngiono was interesting. I always wanted to give this cute corner diner a try. I saw a Groupon deal a couple of weeks ago and decided to give this a try.

The food was fair -- not the most authentic but not bad for a small diner. The soup and appetizer were ok. The Burngiono was interesting. It's actually like an egg & ham quesadillas.  It tasted ok, but... felt kind of strange for an Italian diner.  The pasta dish tasted good but the pasta was a bit overcooked (not al dente) and it would have tasted much better had they used fresh herbs.  To be fair, given such a small 1-lady kitchen, she did a good job.

Anyhow, this was, by far, my worst Groupon dinning experience. The server wasn't helpful at all. When I made a suggestion about the restaurant, she just kept playing with her phone. No apology even when I explicitly said I wasn't happy about the service. Well, apparently, her phone was more important than the customers. I told her that no matter how good the food was, the customer service level ruined my experience.

荷李活道就好像人生的寫照,上斜落斜,起伏顛簸,店子就落在那不起眼的轉角,轉角過後,誰又知道有什麼樣的美好正在等待?店子地方不大,對,就是我好喜歡的小店,張眼一望,光顧的盡是老外,難道連星期天的悠閒時光對我們香港人還是太奢侈了?正因很想很想吃pasta,視線一直遊走在該欄,對味的選擇其實也不在於少,但長通粉是妳的心頭好,不猶豫的要了這個3 meat pasta,顧名思義是三種肉類的pasta,火腿,五花腩肉及絞肉,加以橄欖油同炒,豐腴的肉香頓時安撫了五臟腑..牛肉意式三文治的餡料自然少不了牛肉,以Carpaccio的型式加上火箭菜,麵包烘得香口,好吃,也許下次試試店名的Piadina吧?經歷過風雨過後的沉重,才學懂期盼轉角後的彩虹,沒有那樣的曾經,又如何看得到即將到來的美好..?

顧名思義是三種肉類的pasta,火腿,五花腩肉及絞肉,

We decided to try Piadina because of a groupon. The deal was: $138 for Two: Classic 5-Course Italian Set w/ Pasta, Risotto & More, $258 Extra Wine at Piadina Simply Eatalian (Valued up to $475)"It was a typical two-for-one deal.The set menu had only three courses. We showed the server that the groupon said five courses and she said this was a mistake on the part of Groupon. The first course was an appetizer plate. We decided to try Piadina because of a groupon. The deal was:

$138 for Two: Classic 5-Course Italian Set w/ Pasta, Risotto & More, $258 Extra Wine at Piadina Simply Eatalian (Valued up to $475)"

It was a typical two-for-one deal.

The set menu had only three courses. We showed the server that the groupon said five courses and she said this was a mistake on the part of Groupon.

The first course was an appetizer plate. The second was a piadina, and the third was a pasta.

Then she said we could order only one piadina and one pasta to split, which seemed to be no deal at all. When I pointed out that the groupon was two for one and asked if the portions were enough for two people she quickly said, "I can see that you are confused. You can each order a piadina and a pasta."

We have bought quite a few groupons before for other restaurants. This was the first time the "deal" was so confusing. The protracted discussion about what the groupon said and what the restaurant was intending to deliver was off-putting.

The appetizer plate and pasta were ok. I would go back for a piandina for lunch. That was unusual and tasty. The regular price for a piadina is reasonable.

每個月29號係出糧大日子,當然要對自己好DD啦~由於當晚想做獨行俠搵野食,有意冇意間搵到呢間食店~店裡大多是外國人,見他們邊享用邊談心~店子面積不大,環境絕不拘謹,呢樣野比較喜歡,因為認識既意大利菜,大多走高檔路線,而呢度感覺是食較地道風味的食店而且食物價錢平七八十元不算昂貴自己點了碟唔識讀既spaghetti,再加杯於759價值3個半既有氣水,係呢到收20幾蚊,無計啦自己是一個人不飲酒的人spaghetti材料係有牛肉,蕃茄醬,適量紅籮蔔粒,再加埋店員細心咁添加少少黑椒啦~spaghetti煮得不會過淋,硬度也適中,而且混埋蕃茄醬味道酸酸甜甜,非常開胃,加上播住輕快既音樂,邊吃邊聽份外輕鬆~沒有華麗裝修,用食物質素填補未仲好

自己點了碟唔識讀既spaghetti,再加杯於759價值3個半既有氣水,係呢到收20幾蚊,無計啦自己是一個人不飲酒的人

spaghetti材料係有牛肉,蕃茄醬,適量紅籮蔔粒,再加埋店員細心咁添加少少黑椒啦~

spaghetti煮得不會過淋,硬度也適中,而且混埋蕃茄醬味道酸酸甜甜,非常開胃,加上播住輕快既音樂,邊吃邊聽份外輕鬆~

和朋友想出去吃一些好吃的很久了,因為最近都在吃一些很頹的,所以在團購網上看到這個Promotion就立刻買了下來。這家店滿小的,也不算是特別難找,主要還是因為自己對上環不大熟悉。一開始服務生就給我們上了appetiser,有salad,bruschetta with cheese和parma hami。味道還OK,不過ham和cheese的味道普通,畢竟也不是什麼上等的quality。今天的主菜piadina這是我第一次吃這個,所以覺得滿OK的。不過略嫌裡頭的cheese和ham不夠多,只有薄薄的一層,吃得不夠滿足啊!另一個maincourse 是 番茄牛肉fettuccine,這個做得OK,麵條和味道都可以。

這是我第一次吃這個,所以覺得滿OK的。不過略嫌裡頭的cheese和ham不夠多,只有薄薄的一層,吃得不夠滿足啊!

另一個maincourse 是
番茄牛肉fettuccine,這個做得OK,麵條和味道都可以。
題外話/補充資料: 以$138換取這樣的二人午餐算是抵食了,而且味道還算不錯,不失為一個relax吃一餐的落腳點。

跟同事放工餓了就在公司附近尋找食物經過PIADINA小小的一間BAR,完全不起眼但礙於同事已經一整天沒有吃過東西,為求方便就進去了我們兩人點了一個PIADINA ﹠ RISOTTO沒有ORDER飲品Piadina Saporita, with Gorgonzola cheese and salami我從沒有吃過salami, 但同事說一定要試一次真的很好吃!那個gorgonzola cheese不會太‘漏’薄餅不會太重麵粉味,加上熱食真是一流!值得推介!但這個MUSHROOM RISOTTO就有少少失望了看起來很單調,色相不吸引但味道還好,只嫌它不夠濃環境雖然一般,但價錢合理,食物質素亦不錯,都會再來

最近頗喜歡購買團購餐,抵吃之餘又可嚐新。這次購的是$99二人餐,加$9.9 service charges,超值。這店子在荷利活道,原以為在中環,怎料距半山扶手電梯十五分鐘步程,在上環的石水渠街。店子很小,開放的廚房,店只能擺放五張小桌子,我和外子被安排在近窗的小圓桌,高椅子,桌上點了臘燭,頗有些情調。侍應是一個年青的印度女孩,全程以英文落單。點了巴馬火腿芝士意式夾餅及磨菇意大利飯,飲品只可選汽水。先來小吃,是碎蕃茄蒜蓉法飽兩件,伴碟有幾片生菜醮意大利黑醋,OK,但冇特別。意大利夾餅四塊,份量不少,味道不錯。磨菇意大利飯,味淡飯有些少硬,普通。但以around$110吃這二人餐,超抵吃。

Flatbread夾入了大量半溶Mozzarella和薄薄的巴馬火腿,包質出奇鬆軟且富小麥香,有別於Pitta Bread 或Naan Bread,猌節了質感仍是軟綿綿的,芝士奶味濃,口感如常煙韌,咸香的Parma Ham分怖平均,不用再調味薄餅已很美味。

本對Pasta沒什麼期望,成品卻十分驚喜!!Pasta煮得Al dente有口感,雞件份量多,用上雞胸肉所以談不上嫩滑,但富炭燒的雞油香,然而醬汁才是亮點!鮮忌廉不但濃香滑溜,雞肉的炭燒油香更滲出Cream Sauce中令滋味昇華,別看它平平無奇、樣子不怎吸引的,這碟Penne絕對能吃出廚師的心意和默默耕耘的努力,值得推介!

$99推出一份三道菜連飲料的二人餐,真是搵食艱難,不過難得是小店的誠意,坦白說,店子真的很小,望街景是沒什麼情調可言,人手不夠上菜當然要久等一會,不過小店提供的窩心料理則不是隨處能找到,那就看你到底吃東西是吃環境、吃速度,還是吃味道了。
題外話/補充資料: 服務員非常友善,值得嘉許! 最後加一$9.9,總數$109有找,相當經濟。

水坑口是當年英兵,最早在香港插旗的地方,自此,百多年的光輝歲月,就由這裡開始。經過百多年的發展,水坑口,還是水坑口,荷李活道,還是上斜又落斜,在兩條街的交界上,有間小小的意大利餐廳Piadina,冷眼看四周人面變化。獨個兒由西環步行過來,便選擇在這裡坐一坐,反正還未吃午餐,坐著吧檯一個人,談不上浪漫,但未致太蒼涼。餐牌上的選擇只有Panini,Pasta,Risotto,與頭盤與凍肉併盤供應。餐酒的選擇也多,四十多元便有一杯,每一款餐酒都有註明,配甚麼食物好。Chianti DOCG Verga 2010,配意粉,紅肉最適合。意粉點了Fettuccine alla Piadina,是以茄醬,蘿蔔,洋蔥,與免治牛肉做出來的闊條麵,$80一客,如果在蘇豪吃的話,價錢起碼貴一倍。闊條麵與濃凋的醬汁,一向是好朋友,煙韌的闊條麵,吸收了牛肉,蕃茄醬的味道,酸甜有致,非常開胃。遇上一個人開飯的日子,不想到茶餐廳,迴轉壽司店,想吃西餐而又不想太過難堪的話,Piadina的環境,應該會很適合一眾獨行俠,坐在吧檯,一邊看書一邊飲酒吃意粉,別人怎樣看,我看不到。

遇上一個人開飯的日子,不想到茶餐廳,迴轉壽司店,想吃西餐而又不想太過難堪的話,Piadina的環境,應該會很適合一眾獨行俠,坐在吧檯,一邊看書一邊飲酒吃意粉,別人怎樣看,我看不到。

I was reading a food magazine when a page introducing this restaurant totally caught my attention. It says about this place exclusively serves something called piadina in Hong Kong. I figured that none of the Italian restaurants in Hong Kong serves such dish, and I was genuinely curious about it. Moreover, it also says it's an Italian restaurant with a very economical price, so why not give it a shot?
I arrived this restaurant, namely Piadina simply eatalian. Seeing the word ‘eatalian’ simply make me smile. The restaurant was not big, and it was half outdoors as there are bar tables and seats facing directly toward the street. The setting was cozy and comfortable, with red bricks and an open kitchen, much like a deli. Perhaps it's the American pop songs being played behind, it also feels a kind of hippy place. They didn't blast the music loud, just playing it softly behind, creating a completely comfy atmosphere to chill.
Its menu is pretty simple, mainly divided into Piadina, Panini, Pasta & Risotto, Salads, and Cold Cuts & Cheese. It feels very different to those at decent Italian restaurants. This is more like an authentic Italian restaurant around a neighborhood.
I need not to think twice about ordering their exclusive specialty here - the piadina.
Piadina is a thin flat bread from the Romagna. Considered as a healthy food, it is made with natural ingredients: flour, olive oil, milk and salt. Its roots date back to the ancient Roman tradition. This unleavened bread appeared when the Romans farmed their first cereal and used the derived flour from barley to prepare it. It was said that farmers ate piadina instead of bread during hard times of famine. The famous Italian poet Giovanni Pascoli speaks of it in one of his poems, “simple, holy bread of the poor…which is eaten with country herbs”. Over the years, piadina has integrated in the food and wine tradition of the Emilia-Romagna region.
I ordered their Classica Piadina ($50), which includes parma ham and mozzarella cheese. Not only are there savory choices, there's also one that is sweet, with hazelnut chocolate spread or jam.
So this piadina dish is sort of like a thin pita bread, with filling in between two pieces. It was freshly baked, and I loved the aroma of the freshly baked bread. The hot bread and ham and cheese is definitely satisfying. It's savory and pretty light, with a softly rigid texture. It's absolutely one great snack to have.Then I ordered a risotto as well, the Risotto al Parmigiano ($85) , aka aged parmesan creamy risotto.

Looking nice, and I loved the chewy texture of it. The sauce was not so heavy in taste either. However, as its name is an aged parmesan creamy risotto, I suppose it should have a much stronger flavor of cheese to bring about a heavier taste and creamier texture. Now it's a nice dish of normal risotto, but I don't see the aged parmesan and creamy parts of it.
In overall, it was still a great meal. It's a new experience of Italian food to me. Italian food is now not only served in classy expensive restaurants but you can also find Italian food with more authenticity in style and in an absolutely affordable price. Although the pasta and risottos are merely mediocre, the piadina certainly deserves a big thumbs up.

have quick dinner after praying at Taisui Temple. Set lunch priced $58 +10% including: green salad: fresh vegetables with lots of cheese power. pene with tomato sauce: not al dente but sauce is dilicioussoft drink: too bad that no tea or coffee selection. so choose diet coke. very small restuarant with all high table. not very comfortable in sitting. service is good.

星期六下午有試食活動,不過兩點鐘才開始,早上起來覺得有點餓,就和鬆弛到香港島這邊覓食,前個星期在雜誌看到在上環有一家說是全港獨家的正宗意式烤餅店,所以我們就打算去一探究竟。在Openrice看到寫著荷李活道還以為店在中環,看真一點原來幾乎要走到上環皇后街那邊,所以大家要小心留意,免得像我們走了冤枉路。店名Piadina在意大利文中其實是指意式烤餅,是意大利南部Romagna 地區的的傳統食品,主要的材料有麵粉、豬油(或者橄欖油)、鹽和水搓成的粉團,有點像中東包。店子很小,有點像小酒吧的格局,座位只有十多個,全部都是高腳檯和櫈。星期六下午有供應brunch,不過因為下午要再吃東西,所以這一次就沒有試。Brunch食物的款式不算多,有parma ham、煙三文魚、意式肉丸、蕃茄多士等等,不過看起來質素不俗。餐牌裡除了意式烤餅之外,還有意粉、Panini和一些頭盤小吃。烤餅中有四款鹹和兩款甜的,最後我們選了classic款試一試,另外再點了一客蕃茄水牛芝士。 蕃茄水牛芝士,上面灑了一點點香草,旁邊有一些帶點酸味的綠色醬。水牛芝士雖然吃過不少,但這裡的在認真細嚐之下會感到有一些甜味,奶味也很濃

蕃茄水牛芝士,上面灑了一點點香草,旁邊有一些帶點酸味的綠色醬。水牛芝士雖然吃過不少,但這裡的在認真細嚐之下會感到有一些甜味,奶味也很濃郁,好好吃,店員說這是從意大利入口的,喜歡吃芝士的朋友一定不要錯過。

得知這裡的Piadina麵糰是用上由意大利入口的00麵粉每天新鮮製造的,上檯時非常香,有如此高質素的麵粉,難怪會吃得到微甜的麥香。薄薄的Piadina雖然只不過是簡單的夾著parma ham和mozzarella cheese,但裡面的芝士剛好烤到半溶化的牽絲狀,伴隨著帶點鹹香的parma ham,簡單而美味。另外因為這個烤餅不太厚,所以吃起來也不會覺得太飽滯,一份有四塊,一個女生吃可能會比較吃力,兩個人分享做午餐或下午茶就最適合。

除了意大利人的老闆之外,就只有一位香港女生招呼客人,雖然很忙碌,但她很細心,會詢問客人是否滿意,又會主動提供協助,服務很周到。

下一次在附近如果想簡簡單單吃一餐的話,我會再來吃Piadina,又或者試個甜的榛子朱古力醬Piadina好像也不錯呢。
