I have heard lots mixed reviews about Margo before, so I went with an open mind and didn’t expect too much, but turns out it was still rather quite disappointing. The staff recommended a special dish for us, forgot the name, which is not on the menu, is a dish of deep fried veal cutlet…
We were all so shock after we saw the presentation of this dish, my hubby said it was like the breakfast from cafe de coral (大家樂)🙈 and the taste was mehh too.. the meat was so tough, tougher than my life 😂 the plating presentation of this dish was really unappealing … and i think is quite unacceptable in such fancy resto..

we also ordered octopus terrine, truffle cream croquettes with beef carpaccio on top, beef tartare, rainbow trout confit, scallops, and 12-month tilapia fish..
I think the octopus terrine and the tilapia were not bad, the fish was quite tender, but just not memorable.. the beef tartare was quite good for the first few bites, but the sauce and seasoning went a bit overpowering after. The trout confit was kinda lack of flavour.. The truffle cream croquette was a bit too powdery inside, I was expecting sth more creamy… and I thought nothing could go wrong with a cream croquette 🥲 but apparently it could go wrong in such small piece too..

Overall, everything was pricey with small portion, which is expected, but I think the food quality was really inconsistent, most of the dishes were just average, nothing stood out (only the veal, but in a bad way 😂) not quite live to the hype.. and don’t think they deserve this price tag. Honestly I don’t think I’m a picky customer, but I was expecting more with this price.. the vibe was a bit weird there too, maybe is the choices of the music?.. I hope they can improve in future, don’t waste such beautiful interior..

Is worth trying if u love taking nice photos 😂

Went for lunch at Margo and we could only order ala carte. Swipe to the end for the menu.If we had to point out something that was nice, maybe the portion of the beef tartare is worth mentioning. We were pretty full after that. Everything else was not.... bad if I can recall correctly, appreciate the occasional pretty dish.

Dinner for 2. Mini bar area at entrance, only 6 dining tables in main hall. Lounge (for drinks) and restrooms above.Not a big menu. Wine list was ok. Ordered a glass of Pouilly-Fume.Bread with herb butter. Nice.As “häppchen” (ie bite-sized appetizer) went for the David Herve Royale oysters. Server recommended taking a bite of the butter/chived bread to cleanse the palette beforehand. Oyster was premarinated with a raspberry vinaigrette which balanced the plump, meaty and sweet oyster flesh.Order

Ordered several starters to share.
Gazpacho (cold soup made of raw, blended vegetables) with focaccia crackers. Refreshing.

Salad with Belper Knolle cheese, shaved at the table. This cheese is infused with garlic and rolled in ground black pepper, with an intense cream-like flavor. Matched well with apricot and peppers.

Beef tartare with white onion and porcini mushroom. Quite a big portion. Came with 2 pieces of sour dough bread. Not bad.

3 pieces of pan fried scallops with cauliflower. Scallops tasted good on their own, we found the white sauce too salty.

Decided to skip main course and proceeded straight to dessert: white peach yogurt sorbet with crumble. Refreshing but a bit too bland.

In summary: nice modern German cuisine. Friendly attentive service. Locally sourced produce. Better to go in a group to try more dishes.

因為只係咁岩經過,又有時間,就入咗去飲杯野。晚上六點先會開樓上既bar, 我見6:05已經有人陸陸續續出現,果然係人氣店。上面既格局係咁樣既,枱唔多,要試真係要早啲去今次只係飲左杯,下面環境也很不錯。希望有機會食下飯。
