上星期happy Friday lunch同同事去咗Kyoto Joe度試下,星期五中環區不嬲都難book 位,我地朝早先打去,雖則無晒正常檯,但都仲可以坐吧檯。吧檯都坐得舒服,仲可以望住廚房煮嘢食,疫情之下睇到個乾淨嘅廚房,都令人安心Dset lunch嘅選擇都唔少,價錢中環嚟講我哋覺得都算合理。我哋叫咗 “京都便當定食” 同 “御便當”,賣相同份量都好足。餐廳經理都好好招呼,主動走埋嚟傾偈同介紹菜式,仲提我哋下次要早啲book枱。整體用餐體驗都唔錯,會再encore。

適逢去中環見完客,約咗個朋友去食Kyoto Joe。對上一次食呢間已經好幾年前,當時仲係去舊鋪,而家佢地已經搬咗去加州大廈,地方大咗開揚咗之餘,嘢食都keep 到水準。我叫咗份牛小排。餐廳好有心機用熱石盛住牛肉,上菜後先淋汁。因為有熱石喺底,一淋汁就好似鋸扒咁”吱吱”聲,食落又真係有用,因為個汁同肉都夠熱,加上牛小排肉質夠腍,好食。
牛小排餐仲有配櫻花蝦天婦羅烏冬,幾脆口炸漿夠薄,配烏冬食一流。
以中環呢個地段,呢份set lunch 有 4 舊牛小排再加天婦羅烏冬,其實都幾抵食。下次再過嚟會試埋佢啲壽司刺身。

我叫咗份牛小排。餐廳好有心機用熱石盛住牛肉,上菜後先淋汁。因為有熱石喺底,一淋汁就好似鋸扒咁”吱吱”聲,食落又真係有用,因為個汁同肉都夠熱,加上牛小排肉質夠腍,好食。

經過疫情幾個月嘅煎熬,終於再次去Kyoto Joe 食返餐好,佢地個brunch menu 出左個新嘅main dish 蒜茸黑松露龍蝦,當然要試下啦,卷物同串燒都keep到疫情前水準,讚👍🏼!龍蝦彈牙爽口又係要讚。服務員態度幾好,落多幾次order 都唔會黑口黑面。上菜速度唔會太慢,可以試哂成個menu再有時間食返轉頭。

😑前菜 - 正常,但「鱈長蟹腳沙律」唔知點解會係一碌蟹柳蔥卷,勁難食

🙄刺身 - 師傅刀工一流,刺身全薄切,魚類刺身係正常日本餐廳1/2 到1/3咁大片倒啦,北海道帶子都片開左一半。最回本應該只有牡丹蝦

😑卷物 - 無邊隻特別好味,感覺係用一堆飯質飽人

🤮炸物 - 芝麻雞翼炸到油淋淋,見倒都唔想食。炸蝦完全無味,唔點沙律醬連咸味都欠奉

😑串燒 - 推介黑豚肉腸,食落同金妹牌迷你芝士腸無異

食左成餐,想搵碟菜/沙律/串燒冬菇之類消下濟都無

Since I am a bit bored dining at Zuma and Honjo, so I suggest to try the weekend brunch at Kyoto Joe. For main course, I chose wagyu sirloin. So juicy and tender.

Dessert is average. But overall is pretty good value with all you can eat and a free flow drinks package.

Good environment as you have a great view of IFC.

Staffs are all friendly and patient 🤙🏻

Pretty sure I will revisit again!

Pretty good deal as in this district and the quality of the food was not bad..
No surprises about the food, but everything was basically up to standard, the sashimi was quite fresh, and I liked the spicy salmon tartare, the wagyu skewer was delicious, cooked perfectly tender and juicy, the chicken thigh was surprisingly good too. And I personally love sushi rolls so much, so it was great for me..
But I thought oysters were all you can eat too, which is not, only one for each person, and it was quite yummy.

Most of the staffs are friendly and attentive, the manger there was really nice too, only one particular staff was a bit rude, 😅 don’t wanna be petty here as F&B industry is not easy now.. hopefully they can manage to improve the service quality in future.

I liked the brunch from Zuma more, they got all you can eat oysters and tempura too, which was more pricy tho..

Overall, I still think Kyoto joe is a great Saturday brunch place for you if you are a big eater and can drink a lot.. 😆

Was a sunny day so the view was especially nice at Kyoto Joe, located on the 23rd floor in California Tower Central. The restaurant was quite busy but as we had a booking we didn't have to wait.The waitresses were polite but as it was quite busy it was hard to get their attention which happened when we wanted to order.We ordered the Deluxe Bento Box and the Sashimi and Sushi Set. We waited around 15 minutes for the food to arrive which was understandable due to the full restaurant.The Bento Box

The Bento Box has a bit of everything, with 3 types of Sashimi, toro, yellowtail and salmon, a grilled scallop on tofu, sliced beef teriyaki and also a prawn and vegetable tempura.

Value for money here is a bit on the high end for lunch but the environment is great and if they weren't so busy, I assume service would've been better.

Pleasantly surprised by the sashimi selection, everything was fat, fresh and fineeeeeee. Skewers selection looked good and the cod fish main came in such a generous portion. Didn't touch the sushi after seeing cream cheese in one of them but I got a lobster nabe that took ages to cook so I was entertained by the sight of steaming soup for the whole brunch.

以前來這裏都是吃晚餐的,不過近幾個月,我們改了星期日中午來吃brunch。白天看見的美景跟晚上看見的各有千秋。食物方面也蠻豐富的,而且每一個月來,都有些改動。現在是串燒、天婦羅是落單,厨房馬上現做。其他的自助,主菜我愛龍蝦海鮮HOT POT。今天的龍蝦特別新鮮!本來侍應說抱歉,龍蝦沒有了.......正當我們覺得很失望的刹那,另一個侍應來報告喜訊,送貨的剛到,可以有龍蝦啦!最後還有水果和甜品。悠閑的午餐,滿足的一天。

這個新地址環境不錯,樓層高,比以前開揚得多,裝修也更有氣派。

不過食物實在不復往年。跟從前一樣,刺身都是新鮮的,鮮味在口裏流連忘返;串燒也烤得香,不過就過火。其他食物都只是一般。所謂蟹肉沙律沒什麽蟹肉,主要是青瓜,讓沒什麽味道的蟹肉淡上加淡,醒胃菜都唔醒;炒飯太油膩而不香,什麽松露牛肝菌味都蓋過了,更遑論日本風味;天婦羅小貓三四隻,再吃了體重過輕的甜品後,離開餐廳時如果夠氣都想唱番首絕對空虛。

I tried the Restaurant Week menu of Kyoto Joe a few years ago, before they relocated here, and was impressed by their exquisite and outstanding food back then. But as I revisited their Restaurant Week menu this time, I found that the food was just so so and the portion was too piteous.

They have relocated to a nice environment, on a high floor overseeing a wide view unavailable before, and their decoration has become a lot grander.

However, the food deteriorated. Just like before, sashimi was so fresh that their freshness lingered in our mouths; the skewers were also bursting with fragrance, as they were overcooked (oops). Other food was not quite okay. The so-called crab meat salad only had tiny bits of crab meat without strong taste, and the thin taste was even further diluted by the main cucumber part, making the appetiser not appetising; the fried rice was too greasy and not fragrant, overwhelming the flavor of truffle or porcini, not to mention any taste of Japanese; and probably as my stomach was barely filled even after the petite tempura and underweight dessert, I felt like one of the warriors in the Hunger Games when I walked out from the restaurant.

In fact, I could see that the business here was not bad, as people who had not made a reservation had to queue up, and other diners seemed to be having a good time. I understand that Restaurant Week is theoretically promotional offer, so in exchange the service as expected would not be as attentive as that of other diners. However, if Kyoto Joe feels that Restaurant Week is not profitable comparatively, it is better not to offer starvation food at a discount, but simply quit Restaurant Week and profit from their regular prices. You aren’t paying this restaurant 400HKD to lose weight, are you?

Mary started off with a refreshing strawberry mocktail! Thank you!


This time, I enjoyed the saga wagyu tataki, saga wagyu roll, grilled Miyazaki pork belly and sakura shrimp kakiage– freshly cooked as you order these!!


The Lobster and scallop hot pot were luscious! 


Lastly, the premium dessert platter – I liked the sweet rock melon and the Japanese cake
rolls!

I was stuffed! I couldn’t even eat dinner!!

呢個價錢食到放題或自助餐,但quality一定好過放題,刺生款式少但好新鮮,人大左食得精好過食得多,佢會一次上晒每款卷物,覺得好食再encore,每人一件但試左8款都飽飽地,留quota俾小食前菜仲好,出面有燒物任拎,但好快俾人拎晒,要捕住先食到新鮮串燒,因為係半自助午餐,所以包左每人一款主食,主菜試左和牛鍋,龍蝦天婦羅,西京鱈魚,佢會最後半個鐘先上俾你,記得留肚食呀🤣咁高質半自助放題,真係會想encore!
