Soon after we were seated we were served water of our choice and a basket of bread, not to fond of vinger in general, I stuck to enjoying the bread with olive oil. When the basket came to the table the bread was cold but upon our request they took it back to reheat and it came back soft and yummy! In addition to the olive oil, their sundried pesto paste made the bread even more yummy!! Been wondering how they make it ever since! I’m not a bread professional but the rectangular shaped bread pieces are soft and delicious!! Along with the flat crispy bread pieces! I’m sure after you’ve tried the sundried pesto paste, you’ll be wondering how they make it too!

While we were enjoying our bread we ordered our appetizers, despite dining together, we decided to split our meals as a means of trying different dishes and of course to satisfy our hunger! So we decided to order everything instead of interrupting our lovely evening ahead. My meal consisted of the following –
Appetizer- Tuna and scallop with green apple and Prosecco wine gelatin and grated horse rashish.
Generally I’m not too fond of cold food but this time, I enjoyed it! The Scallop was fresh and there was a perfect blend of flavors given the citrus touch, grated horse radish and tuna. From presentation, to form, to taste very well done. When I started eating, I wondered how long it would take before it loses it’s a-grade presentation, but it didn’t! Right until the end, it was as perfectly placed! And boy was it filling!! This is definitely something I would want to have again.

When It arrived on the table, I literally took a deep breath! Looking at the plate I was intimidated by the portion! That was a lot! Being a ravioli fan, I was eager to dig in despite my nearly full stomach! Before I started I took a good look at the dish and felt they could have been a little more careful with the pouring of the cheese to make it look a little neat. My first bite into the ravioli was another burst of flavors, this time though very different from the first. Full of prawns, tomato and cheese! The plus point about this dish was that it wasn’t drenched in sauce unlike some other places. There were some pieces of ravioli that seemed to be cooked well when compared to some other pieces but all in all, I felt it was a good dish. I would have been able to enjoy it a lot better had I not filled my self up with the appetizer! Lesson learnt though – when dining out with people who generally don’t eat a lot, Split the dishes!

Except of course the Dessert!  That wouldn’t be wise to split especially if it is a Vanilla Panna Cotta with red berries compote!!

Of course, since I have a sweet tooth dessert will always be my best part of the meal! This one in particular was one that words cannot describe how delicious it was. Hopefully, I will be able to do justice to it with my words…Soft and fluffly with the right amount of sugar both in the panna cotta and the compote. The combination of vanilla and berries was the right pick! Especially given the fresh fruits! The few basil leaves really brought out a refreshing feeling with the light and just right panna cotta. Done to perfection. If I could have this particular panna cotta every single day, I would indeed be the happiest person on the planet!

Of course no meal is complete without a drink! And our drink for the evening was a bottle of champagne – Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label. Indeed a perfect choice given the seafood filled meal.

Have Heard Mixed Reviews regarding this place so was scrutinizing everything upon entry!Was Greeted by Very nice interior design – Spacious Interior with Sensual Calm and Relaxing music playing in the background at just the right volume that eases into the conversation alongside perfect dim lighting making the occasion feel very romantic for me & my loved one. Not to mention, a Great Open and Direct Full Sea View of Kowloon and ICC.Service from the get go was very impressive. Smiling throughout.

Very Well Done. Highlight Dish of the Night. Good Texture to the Meat. Perfectly Sliced Premium Meat. Presented Very Well. The Rocket Leaves in particular were Very Fresh & not Soggy at all (other places very possible for this to occur). Definitely felt & tasted like a very premium dish in which a lot of great care was taken to make.

Mains – Paccheri Pasta with Lobster Meat, Fresh tomato & Basil:
Joy of Joys! The Perfect Lobster Pasta. Finger Lickin’ Good.
Wonderful Blend of Tomato & Basil to bring the most out of the Lobster, which by the way, was a Great Big Half Lobster! A Pleasant Surprise to see a Half Lobster on the Pasta. Definitely assists the sensual feeling of having Lobster. Not a struggle to get the meat out of the Shell. For The Pasta in itself, although it was slightly undercooked, was not drenching in sauce, just the right amount to enjoy the Lobster & feel all the flavors. Very Scrumptious – made me almost forget that I was in a Fine Dining Restaurant and wanted to Pick up the Lobster and use my hands to dig into each morsel of meat!

Dessert – Apple Tart with Mascarpone And Amaretto Biscuits:
Could smell the aroma even before the dish even arrived at the table!
Well Formed Crispy Biscuit, Quality Mascarpone - Creamy and indulging.
Definitely handled with care. HOWEVER, unevenly distributed filling of the apple + not enough filling for my liking, nevertheless, A Delectable Dessert.

In addition, to accompany us throughout Dinner we ordered a Bottle of Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label. Surprisingly Well Kept. Fantastic Bottle. Dead-on Correct Temperature. Rarely Experience such care of stocking Champagne. A Bottle is ever only as good as how it is kept in storage. Wonderfully brought out the Zesty and Vibrant Structures of the Champagne itself & also proved to be a Fantastic Pairing bringing out the real flavors of each dish! Cannot Stress enough how pleasing this bottle turned out.
To top it off, when we were about to leave we were presented with a Very Very Delicious White Chocolate & Milk Chocolate Truffle imported from Italy. I do not believe I have seen these available at any stores here in Hong Kong.

About 1230 on a rainy Friday and we were pleasantly surprised that we could get a table. It was on the roof floor so you had to walk up and down the steps for the buffet.The lunch set is good value considering you get three courses plus coffee vs the price of their a la carte menu. About 1230 on a rainy Friday and we were pleasantly surprised that we could get a table. It was on the roof floor so you had to walk up and down the steps for the buffet.

The lunch set is good value considering you get three courses plus coffee vs the price of their a la carte menu. But maybe the a la carte is made better.

My wife had the antipasti buffet - the usual mozzarella cheese with tomatoes, parma ham with melon, parmesan cheese, shrimp and potato salad.  A lot but ordinary. She had the mushroom risotto for main course. A bit bland and the rice was undercooked.

I had the minestrone soup. The vegetables were cooked but the soup was bland. I then had the veal for the main course. Half of it was soft and tender while the rest was dry, so I left it. There was also a sliver of sauce, I'm guessing some kind of gravy, but it was too little for the amount of meat.  The roasted pumpkin was soft and tasty.

The dessert was plentiful but either bland (brownie, cheesecake), tough (mini profiteroles) or too strong (tiramisu's alcohol).

Service was good and you know that they were trained and / or are experienced.

At $348 ++ each and with the diet coke costing $58 I didn't think this was worthwhile.

環境舒適, 地點對係IFC返工嘅人非常方便, 但價錢破貴嘅set lunch($348 + 10% for 主菜連salad & desserts buffet), 如果唔係公司請, 咁嘅價錢應該有好多選擇~Salad buffet, 因通常都係好standard嘅種類, 但呢度好意外地有哈蜜瓜, 雖然唔係日本個d咁甜, 但都好新鮮~ 其他如粟米同菜都ok~D包都好脆, 咁多款最愛脆脆個隻~主菜叫咗牛, 失望地因完全無牛味, 好失色!!甜品種類算ok, chocolate puffy & cupcakes好味, cheese cake芝士味唔濃郁, 其他種類都普通~

We went back this past Sunday for brunch, this time with our 3 yr old son.

First of  all, they don't have high chair. When I made the reservation, I clearly indicated I want a baby chair and the person didn't tell me it was not an option.

We ordered a pasta for the baby, fish + soup set for my wife and buffet + risotto for myself.

To our pleasent surprise, the pasta for the baby arrived by the time I had walked over the the buffet and brought some apps. Soon I found out why--the pasta was simply undercooked. al dente is one thing, doughy & hard is another.

We called our waitress and said its under cooked and she apologised and took it away and within a minute, brought another one. And it was just as bad.

Then came the risotto--it was just as undercooked. Basically hard rice.

On the plus side, both my wifes soup and fish were good.

I called the manager and sent both the pasta dishes back. I don't think anyone in the kitchen is capable of cooking any types of pasta.

They charged me 378 for the app buffet which I think is a total rip off as you can get much better buffet for the price. some cold cuts and cheese and a few salads and deserts don't warrant that price imho.

All in all, I think this was the worst dining expereince I have had in my 4+ years in HK. I have never sent back one dish, let alone two and still got stuck with a bill for 9xx HK!

3) 這個Baked Cod Fish with Roasted Potatoes and Creamy Sweet Onions Sauce跟剛才那個Risotto剛剛相反,是意想不到地鹹,完全不好吃。所以朋友Nicholas吃了幾口後,已經選擇繼續吃外面自助餐的菜了。

有不少朋友也對Isola Bar & Grill 的週末午餐失望,尤其是它的價錢不菲,主菜卻只是一般。雖然它的環境優雅,自助餐的款式多,但其他食物真的不好吃,它倒不如專注在主菜上吧(主菜在Menu只是加多HK$20,也不代表就可以不理水準吧)。可這裏還是坐無虛席,看來人人來也只是吃它的名氣和氣氛,這間餐廳就留給這班有錢人去吧。
題外話/補充資料: 這裡的店員很有趣,他們沒有甚麼笑容,而當你問多幾條問題時,他們就板起面上來仿佛你在擾亂他們一樣。因為朋友Nicholas遲到,所以我們幫他點菜時沒有點他的餐飲,店員就開始不知所措的樣子,狂上來問我們。但叫他們拿水又遲遲不來。一來居然整壺水放在壽星女旁邊,真有趣呀。

Dessert : differently types of small cake (many choices, look nice and taste very very good, especially the chocolate mousses)
Overall ok with this price will come again!

上來的是一杯打得很滑的芒果SMOOTHIES,
入口又不甜, 芒果味也不會很假, 中間帶一點點細碎的碎冰,
奶味也很適中, 整體很清新的.

雖然這裡的侍應經理態度挺友善的, 雖然我只點了一杯飲品但都完全沒有催趕我.
不過眼見開始入夜, 人也開始多了, 宅女也無謂霸著人家的坐位太久, 喝完坐了一會便走了.
但看看隔壁那枱吃的PIZZA都好像很吸引, 下次再來試試吧!

A credit to the decoration, decor and atmosphere. The white flowery decor is the main attraction for me to step my foot in this restaurant.Plus the sea view, other than these I go strongly disagree with the cooking skillsMy friend picked the salad without seeing it through, there's goat cheese mixed with the butter lettuce, not everyone likes the smell of goat cheese and I am one of them. My friend picked the salad without seeing it through, there's goat cheese mixed with the butter lettuce, not everyone likes the smell of goat cheese and I am one of them. Never in my life I didn't finish salad but not this time. Gave up after the first few bites.

Tomato sauce, Mozzarella cheese and basil. Defintely Isola wasn't a nice Italian restaurant because she couldn't make the pizza well. The sauce didn't stand out and the crisp wasn't crispy. SO much more disappointed after ordering the wrong goat cheese salad, my memorable tribute paid to Pizza Express, a restaurant with a much better price and served with much better, hot, crispy, pizza with unforgettable many diff types of sauce.

The only standardize dish, we were ok with it, but it's nothing outstanding or exciting about either.
題外話/補充資料: Isola is a place for chill, drinks, romantic chat or mingling. I will come for the drinks or dessert only, don't wanna spend a dime on the catastrophic meal made by the cooks.

今日在IFC的Isola享用了一個陽光充沛的午餐。兩層的餐廳以白色為主,加上特大的落地玻璃,感覺開陽。因為天朗氣清,所以選擇了室外的位置。唔係太肚餓,所以set lunch 對我唔太誘惑。只選了龍蝦長通粉、松露Pizza和一支白酒。環境滿分。意粉味道和韌度尚算Ok,但龍蝦肉就一般。薄餅是Trifola,陣陣松露香。Black Truffle, Mozzarella 加上Baby Spinach,非常好味。

Nice interior design with good natural lighting.We sat in the air-conditioned area of course, as it was so hot outside!Perfect seaview of Kowloon on a sunny day!Immediately after we sat down, the waitress helped us unfold the napkins (so quick lol), and helped us get 2 large bottles of natia mineral water. Immediately after we sat down, the waitress helped us unfold the napkins (so quick lol), and helped us get 2 large bottles of natia mineral water.

Another waitor very soon gave us lots of bread, and of course vinegar and oil.
The bread was so soft and fluffy, yet a bit too salty.
For the crisp, nothing special.

We ordered the set lunch ($298 per person).

Starter: I got a mushroom soup. It was so huge, tasted very very nice!
(But I heard the appetizer and salad bar here is great too.)

Main course: Risotto with clam.
The risotto so a bit undercooked, making it quite hard to chew and swallow.
The sauce was a bit too salty.
The clams were really fresh and just great.
I couldn't finish it in the end, though I was quite full (although the size looked quite small).

I then ordered a cappuccino, which was okay.
Dessert: buffet with different types of cakes. (I didn't try it, but they do look nice.)

But overall not too good, with this price.

終於有公眾假期, 原則係訂左係金鍾酒店食自助餐, 但由於前幾日剛剛發燒, 有好野都唔食得, 所以改為食西餐, 假期除左À la carte, 可以點set lunch, 其實應該係brunch先對, 因為每位要HK$348 + 10% 可選湯或自助頭盆, 主菜是五選一, 自助甜品 Buffet,還有咖啡或茶.Isola最出名係Pizza和Parma ham, Pizza要À la carte先可以叫, 但見到D自助頭盆同甜品, 好吸引, 所以我都係叫set lunch, 頭盆更係先拿Parma ham加蜜瓜, Parma ham不太咸, 配甜蜜瓜真係perfect.之後再拿沙律, 好fresh, 保持一向水準.主菜點左 - 吞拿魚排, 熱既吞拿魚雖然”鞋鞋”地, 但肉汁都ok甜品, 係我既至愛, 食左先算.

Having a decent lunch at IFC without reservation is always difficult. Luckily, I was having lunch alone and got one seat available there.Honestly, I don't really prefer semi-buffet lunch in such a busy restaurant during weekdays. There are over hundred customers lining up for food..not that relaxing (getting old and lazy). I was there quite early, grasp a dish and took small portion of everything I wanted to have, one round. I was there quite early, grasp a dish and took small portion of everything I wanted to have, one round. Quality was quite good indeed with wide variety of choices.

I picked Risotto as main course, portion was perfect, not impressed, more dried tomato would be much better. The bread was very nice, however, waitresses were too busy and it took a while for the olive oil and vinegar.

Good thing was, window seat, away from the crowds (major seating area).

9pm and the place is packed, but we were seated promptly.This is a beautiful resteraunt with great harbour views.Our starters were excellent, calamari ($178) light and crispy, and creamy burrata with ham($168) was perfectly fresh and well presented. I ordered the lamb chops($288), medium rare, with mash potato and mint sauce. These arrived medium well done and were totally dry. If I had not been with a business partner I would have sent these back. They were served with sauteed potato instead of the mash, and I had to make a special request to the waitress who seemed unaware that this is actually what was advertised on the menu, but they eventually arrived and were extremely good.The next miss on this plate, and beginning what else can go wrong, was there was no mint sauce, and so had to make another request for it. This plate of food was totally unacceptable for a resteraunt of this quality charging over $300 inc. service for a plate of food.

With two glasses of the house red ($90 a glass) and a coke the bill was $1220.

A disappointing evening.
