Decided to visit Sai Kung specifically for this neat little place after seeing reviews (and of course to enjoy the sea view, maybe buy some seafood for cooking later at home haha). Basically spent a large part of the day touring SK :3Anyway moving on...Chip In Fish&Chips literally has the cutest design for its shop! Anyway moving on...
Chip In Fish&Chips literally has the cutest design for its shop! It has chalk boards, adorable flags and little decors that make it all the more friendly and warm ^·^
So for three people, we ordered a Large Fish&Chips for $65 (added $8 to this for a cup of butter-corn and a soda), then the Seafood Platter Set (which automatically comes with a drink and corn) and of course the Deep Fries Oreos (which are only 8 dollars for two pieces!!) The staff there are really nice and welcoming too.
One down side is that, being a smaller shop, there aren't many places to sit down aside from in front of the shop where they'll put out tables. I guess it might be an issue during a rainy day then!
Side note ~ condiments such as vinegar or ketchup etc are available on the counter...don't hog it though haha!
See belowww!
First of all....it's legit some of the best fish and chips I've eaten!!! Aside from the various times I've eaten it in the UK, this is the closest I've gotten thus far to amazing authentic ones in Hong Kong
If writing this matters to anyone ~ of course they make the food per order and on the spot The chips were fantastic (crisp and fluffy), the cod (atlantic cod) was succulent and very very very moist on the inside ♡
Basically everything you would want it to be.
The seafood platter was just as nice and comes with a range of things ~ chips, calamari and shrimp!
The food obviously feels filling and deep fried food is obviously fattening, but it doesn't feel greasy and has a wonderful balance. I can see myself constantly eating during winter lol...
Also iirc the claim is that they use 0% trans fat, omega9 canola oil for the cooking process!
Finally, are the oreos...I didn't know what to expect since I've never had any before but ohmygoodness they were great. Honestly the closest way I can perhaps describe it is a chocolate filled puffball? A lovely sweet treat to end the meal anyway
I'm definitely coming back to this place to try more things on the menu! Way to go Chip In!!
