百吉包籃


平常我哋稱百吉包叫長法包,不過,今次嘅法包唔可以稱上長喇,喺一般嘅長法包1/3長度,但兩個人夠晒食啦。好鍾意佢哋加張紙墊住個籃,又將啲牛油加張蠟紙隔一隔,讓人感覺更衞生

法包喺熱烘烘,外皮硬得嚟唔會咬到損,非常脆口有麵粉香,而裡面軟綿綿好軟熟,卻又有重煙韌感,搽啲牛油,增加少許鹹味,簡單好食。

嚟到法式菜館,老友話唔飲過法式洋蔥湯就好似無嚟過,可能咁講會誇張啲,但洋蔥湯又確喺法式經典。賣相已經好對辧,以小鐵窩盛載滿滿嘅洋蔥湯,一揭起面頭塊艾文頓芝士,洋蔥香氣就一湧而出,一大片厚厚嘅百吉包吸透湯汁,夾雜芝士一齊食,朋友話喺滋味嘅享受;再者,洋蔥味很濃郁,帶甜而完全無澀味,令人喜出望外

雖然唔識法文,但每道菜都有所用食材嘅英文名稱,依道以烤無花果、羊奶芝士、合桃,配上沙律菜、青瓜粒、車厘茄非常清新,而且,份量可不少。整體味道好又元化,多變而和諧,鹹甜相互平衡,而撈沙律菜嘅紅酒醋加咗蜜糖,酸度平衡番,感覺就更好食。

主菜方面5揀1,老友揀烤法國雞脾,聽落食雞脾好似無乜特別,其實主要食食材質素。雞脾烤得金黃,外皮脆卜卜,肉嫩而富雞肉味,唔喺嗰啲雪到死晒可相比,而啲法式香草牛油(Café de Paris Butter)溶溶哋滲落雞皮、雞肉中,令味道就變化得更為芳香
;底下墊滿法式綠扁豆(Puy Lentils),口感腍腍,有啲似煲腍咗嘅綠豆咁。

幾款主菜,都喺牛扒最滿足到我依個食似獸,甫上枱,份牛扒份量十足,應該唔止慣常嘅8安士吧!牛扒煎得焦香並帶有坑紋,睇外觀已引得人流晒口水,伴菜有大量幼身薯條及炒洋蔥,前者甘香脆口,重點喺唔油,後者則炒至清甜。

小弟要五分熟,落刀嗰吓手感真喺一流,感受到啲肉質既軟腍,又富彈力,睇睇啲肉嘅橫切面,色澤嫩紅、紋理清晰,一啲血水都無,足證大廚晌火喉上拿捏準繩
。小試一口,實在妙不可言,因為外皮焦脆、口感軟腍、肉味濃郁、又富肉汁,食到尾都食唔到有筋,伴點自家調製嘅法式牛油蛋黃醬(Bearnaise),香滑帶微酸,有少少似荷蘭汁,總之就精彩滋味

老友則點選朱古力慕絲,小弟滔一小羹試試,已經食得出朱古力味夠晒香濃,而且,啲慕絲做得細滑輕盈,仲好手工一層層咁由底唧上去,比起填滿式做法更見心思,賣相更靚仔。此外,仲加埋少少海鹽焦糖漿、紅桑莓,令味道更豐富

Warm atmosphere, staff professional with a very friendly manager. But the best of all is what comes on the table. I could have eaten starters/appetisers for the whole dinner, but would be a shame because the main dish was just incredibly awesome

上年食過個lunch set $158 3 course 一直念念不忘個steak。星期六的下午12-2pm 都有set lunch,冇加價,終於約到朋友J小姐一齊食個properrrrrr 嘅lunch,好興奮derrr~洋蔥湯(+$18)唔會太焦,厚厚的芝士下係兩塊吸曬湯的baguette,味道偏甜,很濃味。Steak and fries. 叫了medium ,外層煎得有點焦香,外脆肉嫩,火喉控制得好好。牛肩肉味濃又多汁。只是牛扒的份量比上年食小左三份一,之前原條上碟,而家切開兩舊。至於薯條份量好多,幼條的薯條似係homemade。Fish of the day with Mixed Seafood Saffron Risotto. 煎Sea bass 個皮好脆好嫩,但朋友J小姐話好腥,落左d 檸檬汁好左少少。Risotto 比較淡,冇乜海鮮味。Sea Salt Chocolate Mousse一大杯mousse 甜度適中,好smooth好light 的口感,唔會太膩。Cheese PlatterCamembert, Reblochon, St. Maure, Bleu d'Au

Bouillabaisse 有好多海鮮, 好豐富, 不過我哋2個人叫咗2個湯, 好似太多了😂 Hanging Tender 唔係好多餐廳有呢個choice. 鐘意佢肉味濃又嫩, 13oz 份量十足, 仲有好大堆幼薯條, 有半個巨型蕃茄減輕罪惡感. 大滿足! 就算冇super Monday 都值得, 唯一覺得座位太迫, 所以比較嘈!

呢道Steak & Fries係我上一次食過之後,今次Encore首選。肉眼扒上配上半個炸蕃茄,表面撤上大量已調味的面包糠。番茄烤得半熟,內裡非常Juicy,配上脆卜卜的面包糠,非常Match的一道配菜。
肉眼扒本身肉質非常好,叫左五成熟,肉汁保留得非常好。加上用上烤爐,扒身烙上一條條烤紋,視覺效果更加好!肉眼可以抹上旁邊提供的香草牛油,凍冰冰的香草牛油抹上熱辣辣的肉眼後半溶的畫面,真係令人食指大動!肉眼扒的調味非常出色,加上香草牛油的佐味,一放落口忍唔住即刻切第二舊。呢個時候我轉左飲杯紅酒,酒+肉簡直就係人生最高的享受呀!

另外不得不提就係佢薯條非常出色!薯條相比起出面好多餐廳的薯條黎講幼身好多,但係薯味非常濃郁,而且重好脆卜卜。薯條無論配上茄汁定係香草牛油定係肉眼扒的肉汁都好好食,係我食過的薯條之中都算得上係名列前茅

龍蝦湯又係另一道驚喜!材料有原隻軟殼蟹丶大蝦丶比目魚柳丶青口同埋魷魚,材料非常豐富。特別係大蝦同埋軟殼蟹特別新鮮同特別惹味!但最亮眼的地方不是材料,而是湯的本身!龍蝦湯味道濃郁,但係唔會覺得太咸或者太膩,可以稱得上係濃味而又爽口。配上隨湯附送的面包又係享受呢道湯的另一個選擇,而我最愛的就係軟殼蟹吸收哂濃濃的龍蝦湯後一啖放落口,加上軟殼蟹本身的蟹鮮味,又係另一種享受!
題外話/補充資料: 簡單黎講,就算唔係Super Monday去都覺得呢餐飯物有所值。 想試下法國菜的朋友可以透過Super Monday去試下法國菜,會係一個相當唔錯的體驗!

My wife had the "hanging tender" steak, which was great. Nice crust on the outside, and the interior is juicy and savory. Easily one of the best steaks around. We gave it a 8/10.

I picked the beef tartare and had high hopes for it after reading others' comments. I'm a little underwhelmed prolly since I was comparing the dish to perhaps the best tartares I had in Paris & Rome. The flavor was almost there, but the beef could be jucier and served chilled. Texture-wise it was like minced but I'd prefer it diced - it just tastes wholly different. Would also love to see plum sauce to be an option.

Came here for a friday lunch with friend E. Their lunch offering was: 2courses for 138, 3 courses for 158.We opted for 2 course whereby we got 1 starter, 2 main and 1 dessert. We were first presented with a complimentary bread and butter. The bread was warmly toasted and there was nothing great nor bad about it - just nice to have since we were starving!For starters, we went for the smoked and poached salmon with watercress. The salmon tasted fresh and the pairing with the watercress was great.

We opted for 2 course whereby we got 1 starter, 2 main and 1 dessert. 

We were first presented with a complimentary bread and butter. The bread was warmly toasted and there was nothing great nor bad about it - just nice to have since we were starving!

For starters, we went for the smoked and poached salmon with watercress. The salmon tasted fresh and the pairing with the watercress was great.

Our first main was the seabass on a bed of rice pilau. The presentation was nice and the sea bass tasted fresh. Loved the flavour. Definately would recommend this, especially if you arent looking to have a heavy lunch (as it is relatively lower in carbs)

The second main was the lamb casserol. It came is a cute ramekin dish. The lamb was very tenter and almost melts in your mouth.

We wrapped up the lunch with a lemon tart. It same with a small serving of wippe cream and raspberries on the side. It has a lovely tang of the lemon and was a great way to end the meal.

The only thing to be cautioned about is that the restaurant is not too big. So if you intend to visit with more than 2 people, book ahead.

I have been to this French restaurant a year ago, the food and atmosphere is quite nice there. After we ordered, the waitress has given us a small and completed baguette with butter in a basket. It looks pretty nice than just couple sliced of baguette and the texture of it is good also

Not long after, our food have arrived the table
~~ This Tartare de Filet de Bouef is something that we decide to order before we came here and it looks really appealing
! Since is buy one get one free main course, we ordered 230g of this instead of 150g (it is more worth the price)
. But the light is quite dark there, so is difficult for me to capture the nice red color of the raw beef
….. Mixed the egg yolk with the minced raw beef, it feels right and good lol

I ordered medium rare as I am really fascinated the pinkish meat
~~ Left side of the steak is more juicy and tender than the right side, perhaps is because of the fat. The right side of the steak is a bit overcook (maybe medium well) and dry
. Furthermore, this dish serves with fries as well, therefore we are kinds of fries overload lol
. Overall this steak is still quite tasty, and you can dip some butter sauce and salt to eat with

The Super Monday Promotion can truly defeat my Monday Blue
! Around 300 dollars for two amazing French dishes, there is nothing more to say but to just come here and eat haha

Finally gave this exotic French bistro a shot for Super Monday.

It’s always a pet peeve of mine to be made to wait any more than 10 minutes when a reservation has been made prior. But hey, it’s 2-for-1 entrees, I won’t nitpick.

Anyway, we finally get a table… not actually in Bouchon, but at their next-door neighbour, Soho Spice. It’s kind of a weird setting, where the two restaurants are actually connected at the back. I assume both restaurants are owned by the same group. That would have been fine, if we weren’t given the most wobbly table in the house (our wine glasses almost fell off the table), and it was right next to the washroom- which meant occasional wafts of sewage.

Also, not being seated in the actual restaurant itself, made it impossible to get service. Instead of being able to relax at dinner, we had to try to identify the servers from each establishment.

With ambience like this, the food better be amazing, right?

I’ll let you be the judge.

We had the Escargots de Bourgogne, and Soup a l’Oignon soup to start.

French onion soup is my absolute favourite, and Bouchon’s did not disappoint. The soup was aromatic, with a nice portion of cheese. I just wish there were a little more onions, and that the broth was a little thicker.

The Escargots, however, was not equally pleasing. They might have forgotten the salt, so the snails tasted a little too ‘earthy’ for my liking. But maybe I’m just not French enough to comprehend the dish.

For my entree, I had the Tartare de Filet de Bouef. First off, I wish they could have provided a more generous portion of toast, especially since I ordered the 230g portion.The Tartare itself was a little too acidic for me. A great Tartare should have a nice balance of flavour and acidity, and while Bouchon’s was palatable, it just missed the mark for me.

My partner had the Entercote, which was just slightly overcooked. But still, the meat was tender and juicy enough, with a nice sear. The sauces, at HKD $10 each, were not a good match for the steak. I am certain that these are store-bought sauces, and not home-made. The pepper sauce had a chemical aftertaste, and was too salty. The Bernaise was one of the worst I ever had. Made me miss La Vache’s Bernaise so bad.

To end our meal, one of the servers dropped a knife on my leg. Thank God it was not the steak knife…

All in all, the food at Bouchon was palatable, but the dining experience was unsavoury. Given that French cuisine is synonymous with class and sophistication, our experience was anything but.

濃郁嘅龍蝦湯底配上新鮮海鮮,虎蝦青口鮮魚和蟹肉等等,鮮甜無比,兩口子你一口我一口,用上面包沾上濃郁的龍蝦湯,女生就是不喜歡浪費任何一點食物,龍蝦湯湖雖然只是湯海鮮的配角,但溫度剛好而且味道不比一碗龍蝦湯差,整碗都喝光了!

主菜是牛排薯條
上枱牛排大塊到快從木盤中掉下,薯條幼身而且乾脆,令人停不了,絕對不是一般伴碟薯條可以相比,灑上鹽花的薯條,吃很多都不覺油膩,不要以為不油就代表放久了,薯條還是熱烘烘。
牛排大件,外層煎得很實在,帶點燶,這個剛好的焦燶讓香味飛散得更快,切下去的肉排,肉質很嫩,而且多汁,全排牛排都無筋,肉味香濃,到底係薯條係主菜還是牛扒係主菜大家都分不出了!大概每一枱也會叫一客吧!
女生娓娓道出了她的心思,大概她有很多願望,男生大怒,向女生破口大罵,女生哭了,男生又心痛了!

剛好美男待應上了一個焗面包配牛油,大概焗面包出場時間和女生發問的時間一樣錯了,面包配牛油不是應在沙律前出場嗎?女生你發問的時間是否太早吧?
最後面包配牛油小吃,面包煙韌美味,可惜新鮮的牛油,男女吃了一口,都放下了,大概和故事中的男女主角,在這一刻牛油酸了,人心也酸了!
女生的傻大姐性格如湯海鮮一樣吸引住男主角,男主角和剛出場的沙律一樣,平凡卻是女生最喜歡的一道菜,既然是如牛扒配薯條的一拍即合,為何不多點耐性邁向甜點,而不是成為酸了的牛油?

犮人話super Monday, main course 買一送一,咁就去試下啦。四个人叫了生牛閃肉beef tartar, mussels,seafood 及牛扒。各人先來一個洋蔥湯,湯的賣相很不錯,但面層的芝士a bit burnt, 湯又太濃及salty. D mussel就好好味,但牛扒都是。waiters 的服務就不太ok,中文一D都不識,就連英文都有D難度!上牛扒時更冇理我們抬上不夠位,求其放低就走,真奇怪!
