Nice set lunch with salad buffet.Salad was all fresh and crispy and there was a good selection of cold cuts. Beetroot was lovely and the beef was cooked to perfection.Pasta was 'ok'. Nothing special to be honest but it tasted fine. At least it wasn't dry as is often found in Italian restaurants. I had meatballs and the wife had a simple tomato sauce. Nice set lunch with salad buffet.

Salad was all fresh and crispy and there was a good selection of cold cuts. Beetroot was lovely and the beef was cooked to perfection.

Pasta was 'ok'. Nothing special to be honest but it tasted fine. At least it wasn't dry as is often found in Italian restaurants. I had meatballs and the wife had a simple tomato sauce. Fine but not outstanding.

Beer tasted fresh through the pipes and the coffee was hot, fresh and strong.

Whilst the pasta wasn't amazing, the added salad and meats made up for it and we both came away filling contentedly full - still am actually.

Worth a visit.

用團購的優惠來試這間餐廳 $149 由頭盤, 主菜, 甜品, 酒, 加一都包埋的一個set dinner, 價錢還算特惠~預早兩日book台, 不過電話人一口類似印度口音, book位時真係考到我listening和推理技巧...去到埋位就有麵包和一些薄脆片小食, 不過麵包較乾硬...送湯才食得落...頭盤要了番茄湯, 友人不小心地叫了個雜菜湯...她的十分清淡, 我的番茄湯就幾香濃,唔錯~主菜點了肉醬意粉, 個人喜歡較多一點咸味的肉醬意粉, 這個咸度正好適中 意粉乾身, 加多一點肉醬汁賣相剛好, 可能當中加了香草橄欖油拌碟, 更加惹味友人的牛扖, 要了medium的程度, 吃下去還是有一點點韌, 但肉汁也很鮮美甜品試過Tiramisu和Affrogato, 以熱咖啡加一球凍雪糕在上面的Affrogato最為滋味咖啡的熱很快被雪糕冷凍了, 吃下口中咖啡淌著香味, 加上雪糕的甜, 係是次dinner的壓軸驚喜~

頭盤要了番茄湯, 友人不小心地叫了個雜菜湯...她的十分清淡, 我的番茄湯就幾香濃,唔錯~

主菜點了肉醬意粉, 個人喜歡較多一點咸味的肉醬意粉, 這個咸度正好適中

意粉乾身, 加多一點肉醬汁賣相剛好, 可能當中加了香草橄欖油拌碟, 更加惹味

甜品試過Tiramisu和Affrogato, 以熱咖啡加一球凍雪糕在上面的Affrogato最為滋味
咖啡的熱很快被雪糕冷凍了, 吃下口中咖啡淌著香味, 加上雪糕的甜, 係是次dinner的壓軸驚喜~

朋友看上了它的salad buffer。因是公眾假期,門外只說有bunch太久沒在SOHO區附近存活,忘了那是個連雪糕店也只有英文meun要說英文的地方在雞和鴨講的情況下,本是問有沒有lunch set,但店員好像也不清楚般,最初說有,後期問同事後說沒。然後店員說有salad buffer,HKD128一位,雖加了價,但覺價位還ok便進去吃入座後,繼續雞和鴨講,得知buffer是12:00-4:00pm,所以我們這餐吃足4小時!!!! 我們一開始就點了凍檸茶,後期是有後悔太早點.......有關沙律吧........生菜放太近門口然後菜也不太ok,有些黃掉爛掉它的honey很不錯,後期我都吃蜜糖+沙律醬+沙律,這樣配味道很不錯的那Goat Cheese看著本很漂亮完整,被人吃到這樣子我的感想是Goat Cheese單吃太乏味,也想不到配什麼吃好..........那個卷卷茄子是包著Goat Cheese再香草.........很抱歉地那香草超難吃,茄子+羊奶芝士配著也不怎合我口味pama ham,此行目的。本是滿滿的,當然吃光的也不是我們.........(朋友說吃光就回本的了)還不錯

我的感想是Goat Cheese單吃太乏味,也想不到配什麼吃好..........
那個卷卷茄子是包著Goat Cheese再香草.........
很抱歉地那香草超難吃,茄子+羊奶芝士配著也不怎合我口味

pama ham,此行目的。本是滿滿的,當然吃光的也不是我們.........(朋友說吃光就回本的了)
還不錯吃,比yamm的質素好,可惜那天沒蜜瓜......
我們懷疑是在櫃中那隻"金華火腿"切出來的 XD

因為一杯飲品實在不夠,眼見有其他客人問他拿水,便也問店員拿
在西餐廳拿free water是有技巧(?),反正就是別只叫water也千萬別要bottle water(by中過招的人.......)
朋友點了hot water,卻是普通的檸檬味凍水

基本上這店的客人都以外國人為主
除了會遇上太過熱情外國人,HKD128+10%服務費能在SOHO區hea 4小時任吃pama ham是還ok........
但其他食物真的不好吃......
2-3點時見多了不少人來吃,但只吃個1小時就不化算了

盡量把有供應的食物拍照的了,若是想去的人可以參考一下

First I have to thank school for giving me one extra day-off, something which is much-needed in this hectic life of mine. Having no lessons at all (HURRAY!) I could enjoy great flexibility on my lunch-whereabouts. I could enjoy great flexibility on my lunch-whereabouts. Having heard and read about the antipasti/salad bar lunch buffet, I could at last squeeze sometime to actually give it a try.

Apparently Barolo had raised the price of the lunch sets by an average of +$20 as the waitress politely explained to me that the Salad Bar lunch set now costs $128 instead of $108, or $98 stated on its (apparently)outdated website. You get a salad bar buffet, pasta, dessert and tea/coffee by paying $138. This narrow difference of $10 is tempting but since we went only for the salad, we decided to give it a no-no and head for the salad bar instead.

This place is actually more of a bar than a restaurant - we were allocated a bar table which was rather comfortable to sit and eat. The place was crowded with Central lunch-breakers who are mostly foreigners. They looked kinda in a rush - hurrying to return to their workplaces before the stock market opens again at 1:30?
As they buzz around like bees we just looked around lazily, and I felt quite funny being surrounded by people constantly moving swiftly while I was completely in the holiday mood, wanting just to sit back and relax a bit.
After a few minutes of relaxation we could at last move our asses off the comforty bar chairs and moved to inspect the salad bar spread.

What we saw was indeed impressive: plates after plates of fresh salads and antipasti were laid on the long bar table.What a scene. You actually start from the right of the bar to the left were the espresso machine is: first were the soup, bread and plain salad veggies, then the cheese and the cold cuts and the grills, and last were the fruits. There were approximately 15~20 kinds of food available.

Conventionally I started with the plain salads and bread: the bread basket offered at least 3 kinds of bread including french baguettes, flaxseed wholewheat buns and a sour dough. Pity that they had been dehydrated under the strong ventilation, but they actually tasted okay with the crunchy crust and soft(if you tear away the tough parts which has exposed in air for too long), and i guess they should go well with the cream of mushroom soup , which i did not bother to try. Nice salad veggies tho and there were four dressings which you could choose from, plus some really nice and crunchy croutons, cheese(is it cheddar or edam?cant tell) wedges and thin crisps which you could top your salad with, not to mention the really juicy cherry tomato which went well with the thousand island dressing.

The Tomato with Mozzarella looked better than it tasted as the cheese was a bit rubbery in texture but literally tasteless. The comment applies for the goat cheese which, sadly, did not even tasted like cheese at all but resembled crumbled soap.
This was really disappointing as i was expecting quite a lot from its cheese collection...anyway, theres still other antipasti which i could give my heart to.

Smoked salmon was okay but tasted a little too salty, but that could be moderated by a good squeeze of lemon juice.

Next I basically sampled with EVERYTHING ON ONE SINGLE PLATE!!WOHOO! luckily most were vegetables or else i would have killed myself for gorging in so much meat and fat in one single meal.
Parma ham that you should not miss

Anyway, the parma ham was truly delicious - they were of the correct thickness and were not too fat nor salty; the cantaloupe was sweet and went well with the ham.
Matter of fact I thought the parma ham here tasted better than what's served at Tiffin's or The Lounge@J.W. Marriott!

There was the big wedges of grilled pumpkin which i treated myself generous shares as they were truly delicious. You have to pick the softer ones as they were better seasoned. They were quite buttery in texture and I just used them to 'butter' the dry bread! There were two drier mixes of chicken peas and some suspicious seed-like stuff, which i did not quite like. The Grilled mushrooms and zucchini and eggplants were nicely grilled and juicy, however; the clam salad and grilled broccoli and cauliflower was disappointing however as they were not too fresh nor tasty.

We ordered two English breakfast teas which came with a lovely piece of almond biscotti , which served as the most appropriate 'petite sweetness' to the salad buffet lunch.
Now perhaps you will ask: wheres the oyster? I was thinking of the same question and apparently Barolo had taken away quite a lot of food from the lunch menu. Stuff like the cheese variety and some seafood items were missing. That was indeed a huge disappointment, given that they had raised the charge per head from $108 to $128.
Had i been aware of the changing menu, I would not have been here for lunch - it is not very economical of me to have a salad lunch at $128+s.c.

To conclude - great place and great service, the food was okay, but the choice was a bit too narrow given that the restaurant is charging people around $135 per head. Perhaps i should have tried Bistecca Italian Steak House or Bourbon instead.

went there around noon, Had a salad buffet. Don't like to pay for the water when they didn't mention is not for free HKD 55. all the food are cold ! mushroom, pumpkin, except the soup. ( salad bar ) not that many choices to me AND is not tasty should have gone to somewhere else, regret.service is okay, they try to gossip around with their own "language" which I know the topic is me. coming back to the food, my favorite is the pumpkin.the chef baked some fresh pizza m the staff walk around and

I've yet to find a Super Monday venue that really "wows" me (besides Wagyu Lounge), and Barolo is no exception. Just another tight-knit space along the steps of Soho in my opinion: not bad, but not impressive. liked the mild tomato saucemmm peachyI thought the sauce was a bit too thick with not much taste to it. Felt almost like pasta I can make from a box. Liked the cute little pot though!a rather random finish, but it was complimentary so not gonna complain

相信大部份客人視線都會被滿佈 Bar 枱既 Salad Bar (前菜) 所吸引。遠看 Salad Bar 有點像小市雜,色彩繽粉、多姿多彩。實際其內函亦頗豐富,有磨菇湯、沙津、火腿、芝士、蔬菜、薯蓉、水果等。挑選左多款心儀既續一試食,每款既質量同味道都相當唔錯、最喜歡有火腿、Cherry Tomato、南瓜、Goat Cheese、磨菇、Pizza。若要重覆喜歡口味,相信唔需要食主菜都可以飽飽。整體以健康蔬菜類為主,肉類既比重相對較輕,啱曬我個人既口味,喜歡肉類既朋友,大可考慮响主菜中調配。

第二驚喜:甜品:Tiramisu + 檸檬味雪芭 / 朱古力味雪糕


齋講賣相已相當讚,碟上畫花將平淡既甜品變得活潑可人,更充份利用了碟既空間,令眼晴看得更充實!Tiramisu 係少見既無咖啡味,反而喜歡其出乎意料帶出既驚喜,鬆軟及濕潤既質感非常討好。一向喜歡雪芭多於雪糕,酸酸既檸檬味更是芳香醒胃;但朱古力雪糕亦不膩、不甜,而且朱古力味頗濃郁,極力推介予朱古力 Fans!

主菜方面,分別挑選以下3款:

Linguine with Clam:
以小橙紅煲盛上,非常搶眼。將蓋打開,蕃茄、香草紅紅綠綠互相襯托,賣相亦非常吸引。但論食味即無驚喜,蜆肉唔算新鮮、汁味亦偏淡,食唔出有何主體味道,只屬一般一般。

Beef Fillet with Mushroom Sauce:
反而牛肉係主菜中最為出色之作。牛肉肉質嫩滑,磨菇富鮮味,汁帶小甜及富磨菇香味。

Pasta with Chicken Pea:
呢個係冒險既嘗試,印象中以Chicken Pea 為材料既食物都唔太啱個人口味,今次亦無例外。其實味道只係淡淡然,唔鹹、唔甜、唔辣,有點無所識從,亦領略唔到厨師究竟想帶出咩食味予客人。

侍應為我們送上兩排生蠔,應該係每位客人享有3隻。生蠔新鮮帶豐富海水味,但可惜極為瘦削,入口毫無 Creamy 感覺!

總體 Salad Bar 既前菜比主菜吸引多了,下次大可以 $108 光選擇 Salad Bar,而放棄主菜,相信會令人更加滿足!

餐廳面對著大街,前排既紅色高座及酒吧將餐廳既輕鬆氣氛帶出,服務亦做到恰如其份,令食客感覺自在,論環境、氣氛、服務,Barolo 不失為一個慢慢享用午餐既好地方。其實 Barolo 可以變得更美妙,在於主菜能否再加點功夫,相信配角-前菜做得好、主角-主菜亦不難矣!

We went to this Italian restaurant right beneath the escalators for lunch over the weekend. They have a lunch buffet that is very decently priced: $208 for all you can eat appetizer buffet, primi and secondi served by the waiter fresh from the kitchen, dessert buffet plus a coffee or tea. Add $100 to the price and you get free flow of prosecco and orange juice as well. We went to this Italian restaurant right beneath the escalators for lunch over the weekend. They have a lunch buffet that is very decently priced: $208 for all you can eat appetizer buffet, primi and secondi served by the waiter fresh from the kitchen, dessert buffet plus a coffee or tea. Add $100 to the price and you get free flow of prosecco and orange juice as well.

In terms of taste:
- Cappucino was not nice, quite watered down- surprising for an Italian restaurant.

- Appetizer selection was great: salads, prosciutto and salami, grilled vegetables, mozzarella, ricotta cheese, smoked salmon, sauteed mushrooms etc.

- The primi passed around by the waiters covered a wide range, including spaghetti with ragu', gnocchi, pasta with salmon and thin-crust pizzas. Pasta should be al dente, but some strands of spaghetti were a bit too undercooked, which was disappointing. The pizza was also a bit too crunchy for my taste.

- The secondi we had were tuna and lamb, both quite nice.

- Dessert selection included fruit, a bread pudding of sorts and biscotti.

In terms of service, one of the female staff who waited on our table was quite rude, not to mention forgetful of our drink orders. She spent most of her time chatting and joking with the other staff instead of attending to the clients, which made the experience less enjoyable.

All in all you definitely leave this place stuffed, as you should feel after any Italian meal. Also like any Italian meal, you take your time eating (they didn't bring out the primi until around 1:30pm when we were there) so plan to stay a while if you have the buffet.

我這個愛周圍吃有冒險精神的人這趟來了Barolo這間意大利小館以往經過荷李活道時來去匆匆總以為小館是賣酒和小食我們一早book了brunch buffect餐廳設計簡約,喜歡有情調的朋友可選外面的高椅酒吧台搖身一變mini buffet bar這兒有我最愛的生蠔供應,他們都會按時段更換產地,雖然生蠔體積雖較細,間中有殼碎,和refill速度較慢但總算滿足到我這蠔癡而且巴馬火腿,煙三文魚,沙津等refill得快,味道都滿意之於熟食方面,大概有數款自製的麵團,意大利雲吞,披薩,肉眼扒,羊架他們是按時段叫侍應分派給客人好處當然是確保夠熱吧,但壞處是對一些肉癡來說就有點失望皆因肉眼扒,羊架 分派的次數較少'在味道方面,肉眼扒過火,羊架就不錯披薩都夠簿身甜品方面,選擇不多, 值得一提是藍莓芝士蛋糕, 好吃,芝士味夠重水果選擇較多,而且鮮甜,特別是菠蘿在服務態度上都十分殷勤,換碟速度快亦很禮貌介紹食物這天我與友人確實過了一個優閒的下午1200-1600

這兒有我最愛的生蠔供應,他們都會按時段更換產地,
雖然生蠔體積雖較細,間中有殼碎,和refill速度較慢
但總算滿足到我這蠔癡
而且巴馬火腿,煙三文魚,沙津等refill得快,味道都滿意

之於熟食方面,大概有數款自製的麵團,意大利雲吞,披薩,肉眼扒,羊架
他們是按時段叫侍應分派給客人
好處當然是確保夠熱吧,但壞處是對一些肉癡來說就有點失望

友人是生蠔粉絲, 隨即訂下日期相約一試.
通常去 soho 食飯, 都會行行人天穚, 這店是位於荷李活道, 是通往elgin st. 天橋下.
一貫soho 小店風格, 紅黑枱椅配米色牆, 感覺柔和而有個個性.
坐下等待應拿水後就去appetiser buffet 枱開動~~
有齊意大利頭盤應有的菜色, 沙律菜, 車厘茄, 烤grill南瓜, 烤蘆筍, 烤彩椒, 吞拿魚車厘茄冷盤, 煙三文魚, 黑松露炒磨菇配嫩菠菜葉, 新鮮slice生果有西瓜, 菠蘿, 同超甜哈密瓜 等... 還有 cheese plater
拿了滿滿一碟頭盤, 返座時見parma ham 己上, 一人一小碟, 也好可以確保一定質素. 新鮮哈密瓜用來配parma ham, 好吃~

友人說生蠔不是什麼好貨式, 但也滿足了蠔瘾~
因為要留肚吃主菜, 所以我們只要多了一碟以上最讚的菜式, 然後乖乖地等主菜奉上.
分別要了: 長通粉, LINGUINE, pizza 同魚 分吃. (選意粉/ pizza 主菜 $138pp, 選海鮮類主菜 168pp)
長通粉先上場, 配車厘茄, 少量肉, 番茄醬, 通粉煮至彈牙程度, 配上各樣配料, 幾好吃 ~~
然後是 LINGUINE 配美式肉醬, 這個我們一致認為較為"信" 色. 這麵條與美式肉醬不夾, 麵條唔sock 肉醬, 所以好像把兩者同時放入口, 而唔覺這兩者是混為一菜.
pizza 看樣子己經好吸引, 芝士下得夠, 與車厘茄及薄荷葉是出奇的夾, 通常都只系配羅勒葉, 從未試過這新鮮的配撘!
再來是魚的主菜, 魚是沾了薄薄的香草粉漿焗製, 配少許番茄及Balsamico, 連不吃魚的友人也把分了的份量掃光~
拌碟的沙律配少許Balsamico 也醒胃, 讓飽撐了的肚皮滕了些空間給餘下的甜品及咖啡.
甜品是類似朱古力心太軟但vanilla 版 & lemon sorbet.
心太軟內裡是 rum 酒 吉士, 但這個不吃也罷, 只吃了爆出了的吉士, 其餘的只系乾涸的麵粉包... 反而lemon sorbet 有驚喜!
酸酸的, 好怕那些甜漏的sorbet.
結尾是一杯濃厚香醇咖啡.
值得推介的滿意午餐~

席間待應們欣勤地加水, 服務也滿分~~ 想起友人生日快到, 相約慶祝也不失禮

A quick happy hour prior with my friends to the much awaited Sushi Sase’s dinner, I ordered a bellini ($88) which proved to be a truly girly drink. It even rose to the top then sink back down, like an hourglass remaining us that it’s time to head for dinner.Sugary peachy flavor was actually a great complement to sparkling champagne, and we were amazed by the special effect of how the cherry kept fizzing with bubbles throughout the whole drink! Sugary peachy flavor was actually a great complement to sparkling champagne, and we were amazed by the special effect of how the cherry kept fizzing with bubbles throughout the whole drink! (like 30 minutes!)

My friends’ choices of bottle white wine and whisky probably came in predictable taste. What surprised us was the very good quality of prosciutto ham that they were serving “FREE” with the drinks. The parma ham was freshly sliced by machine, lusciously moist, with a good cured flavor that’s not overly salty. In fact the quality is better than almost all those sad dried-out parma ham that I had tried at antipasto tables, such as the ones at Angellini or BLT Steaks.

6月中店址可能在荷利活道轉角往SOHO,行人天橋下,所以不是咁顯眼,上次飲happyhour都唔係咁多人,假期前我們又是沒有訂位,這裏環境都幾好feel,又有位,又未來過,最喜歡試新嘢:Mesculin$65 雞蛋,西式沙律菜,胡椒煙燻TUNA,沙律油,爽口清新。Papagallo Pizza$118 沙樂美腸,黑橄欖,蕃茄,餅底外圍硬脆,中間軟。Gnochi$130,最特別,初初食落好似薯仔加麵粉,其實可能只是麵粉,搓成米糰一粒粒,滑滑溜溜,但無紋,煙煙靭靭,好重芝士味,配黑松露碎,好味,但好膩。

下蘇豪的荷里活道,行人電梯旁邊的"Barolo",這間以意大利北部,著名紅酒區Barolo為名的餐廳,顧名思義是賣意大利菜.由外面看見餐廳門面,比較似一間酒吧,餐廳外面的全是高檯高凳,亦有酒吧檯.再行入去,才是用餐區.暗紅的色調,無論來飲兩杯或來晚飯,一樣感覺浪漫.意大利菜也有好幾個不同派系,Barolo因在北部,所以此店的意大利菜,是賣北意風味.恕我無知,對意大利菜來說,我一向不像中國菜般,分得這樣清楚.頭盤吞拿魚蛋沙律,以吞拿魚作主角,沙律菜,煮蛋為綠葉.吞拿魚扒外熟內生,肉質柔軟嫩滑,沒有留痕.魚味不算強,下面的沙律菜新鮮爽脆,其dressing酸酸甜甜,令人胃口大開.Barolo另一道特色,就是自家製麵條,是晚品嘗的香草松子手造麵,聽說香草醬也是主廚自家調教,不是用超市之現成貨.這個手造麵,外表似足早前在和味館,吃著的竹虫,意大利名稱為Trofie,我就叫他一個膚淺之名 - 虫虫麵吧.此麵條是源自北意.香草醬的味道清幽芳香,松子的脆口感覺,兩者幾時都這麼合拍.此麵材料非常簡單,除香草醬之外,只有車厘茄,紅椒絲,同芝士粉而已.主角麵條將香草醬的味道,緊緊地牽著,入口煙煙齦齦.十分

另一道是鮮蝦帶子意大利飯,材料同樣地簡單,帶子,鮮蝦,再用些奶油來煮成的Risotto.賣相精緻公整.無論蝦同帶子,同樣地鮮甜,用奶油煮成的意大利飯,每一粒煮得Al dente的飯粒,盡數吸收奶油的濃香.

主菜是Catch of the day,是日捕鑊的是Ocean trout.魚肉色水同三文魚沒有兩樣,魚味則比三文魚更鮮,如果是吃三文魚,還是慢煮,或是煙醺.樽魚還是用來煎,是夜的Ocean Trout,魚皮薄如紙,入口香脆,皮下的魚肉,質感肥美得出油,但吃到中心位,就有點點過老,魚上面的綠葉,正好中和膩感.

小店的服務算不錯,要說的是上菜速度極快,當未吃完意粉時,主菜便急不及待上桌,周六晚想優閒地吃一頓飯,也難矣.

不過價錢並不貴,以上菜式連一杯意大利Sauvignon白酒,兩個人吃了六百多,用了Citibank信用咭結帳,剛好六百.在上,下蘇豪一帶,兩個人吃一頓晚飯,是差不多價錢,但大多也是聯合國西餐,沒甚特色可言.

如果想平平地來吃一餐,中午來吧,頭盤任吃,也是一百多一點.

食物水準唔錯, 環境唔錯, 坐得舒服~疑似經理的男士服務好好,有係d server態度囂d, 勁force你order drinks, 其他都ok~其實soho咁多餐廳, 依間真係唔係首選, 不過好就好在所有食物有2個size, 如果2個人黎都可以試多d唔同既菜~細size真係唔多, 個potion好似tapas咁~連steak都有small size, 岩晒d想咩都試但係胃口唔大既朋友~今次食左green salad, cheese+tomato, parma ham, rib eye steak, penne carbonara~parma ham勁好食~penne carbonara麻麻其餘既都ok~如果2個人黎都唔錯丫~
